Like your nickname.. kinda cute.
Cats use their whiskers to judge if they can fit through things. If their whiskers wont go through then their head wont either.
Basicly to let them know if they can get through a gap
they serve as a gage to tell the animal if the area they are going into is big enough for them to fit through.
whiskers help with balance and judging of distance.
The whiskers have like nerves on them, and they're meant to be the same length as the body (at its thinest) is wide so that they know what holes they can squeeze ito! Its very clever really! Why men have whiskers we'll never know!
to feel if they can get through a gap
Why do men have moustaches?
it helps them to know if where they are walking is big enough for them to fit. my dad told me whe he was little his brother trimmed the whiskers on his cat (cruel i know) and it kept bumping into things for a while. the cat was fine.
I thought it was to keep insects from getting in the way when they ate in the wild (duh?) they look cute, anyway. Hey, Mr Stingray, you look HOT!!
whiskers are the width of the animals body. if they get into a tight place they will have room to turn around
so they can feel how big or small the area they are in and if the whiskers touch the sides of the thing , the animal may not be able to fit throught that object!
to judge weather they can fit through things or not.
There whiskers are very important to them they can judge wether they can get through a gap or not.
Its an extra sensory system, a refined sense of touch.
