What came 1st the chicken or the egg? (i think egg)?

Answers:
Well, it has to be the chicken, of course!
Think of Adam and Eve - they were created first and put in the garden of Eden, before they reporduced. Then the animals were also created, and eggs were produced after this.
Simple!

However, see Wikipedia for a debate on this - they seem to favour the egg (doesn't mean they're right, though):

Oh dear - try this site - it also favours the egg:

I am still not convinced though.

I hope this helps:>)

Chicken - because God created animals first before they begin to reproduce. That is only if you beileve in God.
the best explination i could find would be for the chicken coming first, because there would be nothing to keep an egg warm, and animals can't evolve into an egg..
Eggs existed before chickens.
The first form that had the genes of the modern chicken was
an egg.

That is, the egg was produced by something that was very
like a chicken and there were mutations in the reproduction
process creating the chicken's egg.

The chicken's egg came first.
this question again. i have to say this has to be the most asked question on UKQnA.com.
the egg duh!
how else would the chicken be born! LOL
obviosley the ckicken cuz if it was the egg how did it get there?

ps God made creatures and the creatures reproduced

pps <if u believe in god>
the cockeral came first and bred with another bird producing the egg then out pops a chicken
in the bible it says that God created man and beasts/ so i guess that means the chicken/
depends which was more turned on ;)
Well, one day I was walking on a Farm, and up walked a chicken. It clucked at me a couple times, and then lay an egg. And I threw a digit into the air and cried Eureka! For I had just answered the age old question on what came first, the chicken or the egg. The answer is, Kevin. I came first. :-)
This question came up one day in a biology class and I answered the egg. The correct answer was indeed the egg. The chicken had to start somewhere he didn't just pop up there.
me too cuz the chicken HAS TO COME from an egg .. but maybe the egg came from like a dinasaur or something!
That is a no brainer the chicken! got to have the animals to produce the eggs. Unless you try to do it somekind of scientific way then you screw up nature the way it was intended.
Chicken soup and omlette 'n' chips.

Great minds think alike eh?
FreedomIsntFreeUnlessYourNude!

Beat me to it.
The chicken had to come first, in order to fertalize the egg.
evolution it could be either one.. another species laid the egg and evolutioin created some sort of creature related to the chicken and that relative could lay eggs and with evolution you have the chicken today
Where did the egg come from? and what sat on it to hatch it? God created the earth, and all things on it, I think he would be smart enough to make the chicken first so they could reproduce.
the oompa loompa came first
i wander??
I think it is the chicken. the egg came after. everything already have been said. don't have to say anything else
Order a chicken and an egg in a restaurant. The egg arrives first as it takes less time to prepare
