Why don't you ever see baby pigeons?

Answers:
pigeons are atually rats that have sprouted wings and lose their tail. Much like a butterfly from a worm, they go through a transformation. Hence the common nickname "rats with wings".
they just come out the ground fully grown.
You do you just don't recognise them as being babies
Because they dont fly untill they loose all the down feathers so they look like adults anyway.
you cant tell a 'baby one' from an adult one?
I do..in my cats mouth when he brings them in.
They have to stay in their nests because they are still being breast fed!
i used to think that then 2 lots of pigeon nested on the door frame of my local shop and we could see the chicks
they are ugly grey scraggly little things
Small baby pigeons stay in their nests until they are fairly big. Like any other bird, once they are big enough, their parents teach them to fly and survival techniques. You would have seen baby pigeons before but didn't realise because they are virtually as big as fully grown pigeons when they fledge. I know this as my ex-husband used to breed and race them.
Baby pigeons grow VERY fast. For the first couple of weeks, they are extremely ugly and knobbly as all baby birds are. During this time, they are nest-bound. Then their development speeds up and all of a sudden, their feathers all come in, and they look like the adults, but slightly smaller. Have you ever seen a pigeon sitting next to another pigeon, making squeaking cries and shivering its wings? That's a baby pigeon asking its parents for food. They have to be quick about growing because they live almost exclusively around human habitation, and human pets find them a good source of nourishment. Don't want the babies sitting around in the nest until they get eaten.
the pigeon species has been replaced with a set of look-a-like robot spies by the government, so there are no more babies, just replacement units.
I do. In fact on two different occasions we found a baby pigeon on the drive, we thought it had fallen out of the nest which was in the conifers. We telephoned the RSPCA who didn't want to know. We borowed a ladder from the neighbour which was a field away, it was pouring down with rain to put it back in the nest. later in the day it was back on the floor. Apparently the mother threw it out because it was ill or something. But she stayed with it on the ground in the pouring rain till it died.
because of the pigeon pie.
baby pigeons are more tender.

I'd love to know where this question comes from, it gets asked a couple of times a week but I never hear anyone ask it off this site.
You do see baby pigeons, you just can't recognise them. They are skinnier and scruffier than the adults, and their beaks are thinner.
Mostly because a pigeon builds a flatish nest and most of them fall out before they are big enough, and their parents are so dumb they haven't got the brains to find them
I was told that by the time they leave the nest they are as big as the adult birds so you cant tell the diffrence
You do they are like penguins, they are usually bigger than their parents almost immediately. They stay in the nest and get fattened up. They are all fluffy.

Are you a cat looking for baby pidgeons to eat? I'm not telling you where to find them just in case.

Clever cat using the internet, it amazing. Then againn you could be human taht would explain a lot

GOOD QUESTION. CRAP ANSWER
This is not an answer but kudos as I could have asked the same question as I have never seen a baby pigeon but good enough I now know from what others have said that's UKQnA.com for you.
You're not looking in the nest. I have seen them and they are not very pretty. They nested in my barn until I evicted them by tearing down their nest every day for 2 months.
Baby pigeons stay in the nest until the juvenile stage(bird equivalent of teenagers), then they leave the nest and join the other pigeons. They are recognisable as they look kind of scruffy and unkempt and slightly smaller than adults.
they are over protected, I know a guy who raises pigeons and they stay close tho there mom
The answer is the pigeons make their nests in the building struts of houses, railway buildings, bridges etc. They lay their eggs well out of sight and when the babies hatch, they stay in the nest very well loved until they are fully grown then they are literally kicked out and fly away.
My father used to have racing pigeons--reason why you don't see baby pigeons is because they can't fly yet and they are still in their nest. They will eventually emerge as adult pigeons like the ones you are used to seeing.
there made in hell and then thrown out into earth so they can spread deseases! Curse those f***ing
birds they'll be the death of us i reckon!
I see lots of baby pigeons in East Anglia
because they are full grown when they leave the nest
i think they are hidden by their parentsand are being fed and cared for until they are fully grown and are able to fly.
probably you never look into their nests
the young of pigeons ---are called ----- squabs
Because by the time they are ready to leave the nest they are fully feathered and can fly and look like an adult, for all practical purposes.
