Would you ever eat dog/cat if offered and if not how whould you refuse your host gracefully?

Answers:
Yes, of course I could. What is the difference between eating dog/cat and eating chicken/pig? It's simply that we have domesticated cats and dogs and that they are considered to be cuter. It makes no sense at all.

I ate horse when I was in France and it was delicious. I saw no difference between eating horse and eating chicken. The fact that horses are 'cuter' is just ridiculous.
"Sorry I'm vegetarian" will work perfectly

Anyone who offered you cat and dog would definitely understand and would not be offended.

The only reason I would eat cats or dogs if it is the FINAL resort in order to stay alive.
not unless it was a bet. i would politely say that i wasn't hungry or something, or tell them politely that i don't eat dog/cat food
No, I don't think I would want to eat dog or cat . after all I won't eat venison or veal & these are much more acceptable meats over here.

To refuse gracefully, just look your host in the eye, smile (nicely mind no grimaces or sneers) & say "No thank you".
Never ever ever ever not a chance i would refuse politely AND then excuse myself from whereever this person is asking if i want to eat a cat or a dog..its disgusting and unsanitary. ugh!
say your a vegetarien
I would refuse but not gracefully!
i would not eat it and i would flat out tell them "NO"
No, and graceful is so not me. I'd say something like, "is that all the soup kitchen had left?"
if your host is serving cat/dog....you better leave immediately you many be on tomorrows menu! good luck
hell no
Oh how gross

A blunt no and leave quite sharpish
i would definitely not eat it and yes i would get up and leave if someone offered
I would hope I never have to but reality is that it's just meat like anything else. I would eat it to be a good guest (diplomatic)

but I wouldn't enjoy it.

but it's all in you mind.and besides, whether you eat or not the animal is still dead and on a dinner plate

who are we to judge anyway. by doing so were being egocentric

were judging other cultures by our own and that is completely ignorant.

hell, all these idiots posting would be eating cats and dogs if they grew up eating them

and they'd do it with no problem or second thought

think outside the box here people
no i wouldn't eat it. u could say, thax anyway im a vegetarian
no way id tell them r u otta ur mind
I would say no thanks, you eat it
No, and I would simply explain that my religion (I'm Jewish) prohibits it.
Sure.Really whats the difference between dog, cat, rabbit, pig, Chickien, salmon, etc..etc.they are all just the flesh/meat of an animal Why should cute one be spared or treated any differently.if you do your just a hypocrite
Never - how could anyone. Gross.
No way. I'd just say "thanks but no thanks"
Before I accept anyone's dinner invitation, I always make sure to know what's cookin'. I can always say I have plans on that night. If someone asked me on the spot right as dinner is being served, I'd probably say I had a late lunch, and I still have heartburn from it. A glass of water would be fine. In reality, I don't think I'd want to even eat a salad out of a kitchen where a pet was being served.
Sure. If you travel the world you will find that there are places where dog and cat meat are as common as chicken to us. There isn't much difference really. It just seems wierd to all of us because we have them for pets. It is hard to imagine serving little "fluffy" for dinner.. but think of it this way.. people have Goldfish for pets.. have you ever eaten fish? I know it sounds gross.. sounds gross too me too! But it really isnt any different from all the other animals we eat.
How would you know you were eating it if they didn't tell you what it was?
i wouldnt be graceful to refuse to eat a cat or dog - same if someone served me up whale meat

not in a million years would i eat that
I would accept a cat any day and feed it to the dogs gracefully
I ate cat curry in Singapore. I also have problems with cats shitting in my garden and sometimes I look at them and think yum yum.
if served in the UK/Americas then definitely I would refuse it - however, if I was in Asia where dog is certainly on the menu, I would think twice.

I would like to think it being no different to eating horse in France, kangaroo in the UK etc.

We only recoil at the idea because dogs and cats are seen as our friends in the western world (and I have three cats and a dog). Likewise, the cow is sacred in some countries and those inhabitants wouldn't dream of eating one, and probably look on us westerners as totally barbaric because we think nothing of it.

At the end of the day, if you are a meat eater, hungry and the only thing on offer was the family pet, you would eat it.
i would say no thanks that is gross and i don't eat meat!
yes I would, but only if it wasn't a dog/cat I knew. lol

I mean seriously, cats and dogs are just meat that's a hell of a lot cuter than cows. I assume the only reason we don't eat them is that there isn't enough money is raising them because they don't have enough meat on them.

In all reality there are many countries that do eat different animals than those of us in the US. I would not actively seek out the opportunity to eat a dog/cat but if the alternative was to embarass my host I would.

If India were a super power the US would be looked down upon for eating cows. I've eaten squid, shark, snails, frogs legs, kangaroo, aligator and many other things because it was offered to me.

If you have to turn it down just tell the truth, that it's against your morals, you don't believe in it or that it just doesn't sound good to you.
i could not eat it, i would end up doing a dean gaffney, was tricked into eating rabbit pie as a child threw up when i discovered it was not chicken as i was told it was originally.and i would not gracefully refuse a whole lot of swearing goin on probably.
