if you loch has not jumped out of the tank as some have suggested, he may be living in your under-gravel filter (if you have one). often a new tank wont have enough food for your loch and he will seek it in the filter this will do him no harm.put some bottom feeder pellets in your tank and he may turn up to feed , but as others have said he is a night time feeder and shy, he wont surface until you have turned out the lights. I have 2 coolie loches i don't see from one month to the next.

fish breeder of 30 years
have the others eaten it
Look on the floor around the tank. Some types of loachs can jump pretty high and can squeeze out of really tiny spots.
Don't worry My dojo Loach likes to bury himself in the gravel or hide in the plants, just gentily move the gravel around and hopefully you find him. They are also more active at night, so check the tank at night time and you may see him. If he is not in the tank then look on the floor, they can jump out! If he's ok make sure you secure the lid so he can't get out.
It must have jumped out? I cant see the others eating it?
I had one jump out of the tank on me just beside the filter I found him later on the rug a little dry but not too bad so I thew it back in the tank and one of it's fins fell off and later grew back and he lived for several years after that, check in the filter or on the floor around the tank.
If you have a cat, smell their breath.
the others may have eaten it or it may have jumped out..look around on the floor
empty the tank and have another look,it cant just dissapear and it sounds like the goldfish arn't big enough to eat it.
Many loaches are shy, and nocturnal. They are well know for doing things like swimming down inside an undergravel filter. I have a catfish that I see every 2 months or so. I've thought he was dead twice now. Also you can check around the tank in case he jumped. Or inside your filter.
Check the intake for the water filter.
I have had mine disappear for up to a week and then magically reappear. No idea where it was hiding, btu it was. The other possibiliy is it jumped out of the tank. check around.
It has probably just buried itself in the gravel. My Loach lies to hide in the ornaments that I have in the tank (the castle!). It's very cute as you can see it's head sticking out the window sometimes!
When I had tropical fish the loach tended to hide behind the filter for some reason. They also like to lie under filters.

They are very well camouflaged and can be very difficult to see even when the do get to 3-4 inches long.

My daughter called ours goo goo eyes because it aways stared at out from inside the tank.
happened with my pleco, just vanashed, never found.
There are about four things that could happen to it.
1) Goldfish could have eaten it, but that doesn't usually happen, esp. with these fish.
2) the fish might have jumped out, with is the usual case with some fish, if you don't have a lid, or a lid that doesn't fit well enough.
3) The fish is in the tank, just hidden, my pleco often does this, i don't see it for days infact. Check the gravel, or near any decorations
4) Mysteries. It sometimes happens where you will never find that fish, it happened to me, i lost of my plecos, never found it, wasn't in the gravel, under the driftwood, outside the tank, eaten by others(seeing as it was with platies and it was nearly 5 inches long
Its probably hiding under the gravel or check its not in your filter.
