There are many books on the market. I also offer email consultations for $25. I have plenty of information for new puppy owners, including low cost spay and neuter.

If you have a local AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator who does classes, I would highley recommend it. It is a great way to teach basic doggy manners (doesn't even have to be a purebred dog) plus a trainer that can physically see and help your dog is always better than any puppy book. You can check for evaluators at the AKC's website
Best book I ever read was called Raising Rover.

usually a library will have books on how to train your puppy
the Internet will have lots of sites
or your local pet store can give info
there are many books telling you how to look after a puppy but the best thing to do i think is to get you and your puppy to know each other be for you start training
places like costco but you pay vat
look at all the different dog food labels - they all have good websites with plenty of advice or the vet/library/friends. Research BEFORE you buy a puppy!
