Do fishes really sleep?

I've never actually seen a fish sleeping.they always just seem to be floating around aimlessly..

Answers:
Yes they do, they sleep but yet their eyes remain open and they float around.

Doubtfully, but if my answers not enough then ask a pet professional a vet because they know alot about that stuff.
If they're always floating around aimlessly, they're probably dead.
First, the plural of fish is not "fishes," but rather "fish."

I don't know if fish sleep, but it's a fact that certain animals such as sharks never sleep, so maybe that's the case with fish, too.
I have an outdoor pond with a few goldfish in it. They definitely sleep. They suspend in the water. They hibernate through most of the winter. Sometimes they even go to the rock condo's that I built for them and sleep there!
No
My horoscope is PISCES(fish) and all people who have pisces like me are sleep .:-)hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Its not really a sleep as they can still see and swim and are conscious, but they go into a sort of meditative rest that allows their bodies to rest but still remain on alert for predetors!
yes they r sleep
Yes, but the wake up when they feel any movement and you make mvement when you try to see if it is sleeping
no
Most fish spend part of everyday asleep. Being asleep can be different to different kinds of fish. Some fish (like herring and tuna) are motionless in the water during the night. Other fish like rockfish and grouper don't appear to be a sleep at all. They rest against rocks, bracing thereselves with their fins. Also some freshwater fish (like catfish) swim under a log or riverbank 4 shelter during the day. By the way fish don't close their eyes when they sleep; they have no eyelids!
no FISH dont sleep
They do sleep...especially all Pisceans(fish In astrology)..I refer here to my husband.who floats in his day-dreaming and snoozes whenever he can!
