What are the kong toys for dogs?

they were mentioned in several answers the other day about how to keep your dog amused during the day, what exactly are they, where do i get one in the uk and how much? i have a gorgeous 6 year old boxer at home, he is great no trouble, but i feel awful leaving him bored at home.

Answers:
You can buy them in pretty much any pet shop/store in a variety of sizes. They cost up to around 10.00.
kong toys are rubber cones that you put food in (eg peanut butter), put it into the freezer for a couple of hours then let your dog play with it, the purpose of the toy is for the dog to lick out the food through the holes at on either end. This could take hours and they come in all different sizes.
Kong toys are hard rubber toys. Dogs enjoy them because of their unique shape and they can give them plenty of wear and tear. There are quite a few different varities. Usually they're red or black. There's one type that you put dog treats in and the dog has fun trying to get the treat(s) out of it.
Check at pet supply stores or order them off the net. They usually cost between $7.00-$10.00 US.
they are available loads of places, they are made of really strong rubber so they are durable
Kongs are used for prevention of boredom, separation anxiety and other behavioral issues in dogs. Regular use of Kongs can also improve oral health. They are a rubber toy with a hollow centre which you fill with treats. Your dog will have lots of fun pawing at the toy and rolling it around in an attempt to get the food from inside. A dab of peanut butter spread around the inside is my boxers favourite. You can buy these from pets at home and they are £4.99. I got one last week for my boxer puppy and she loves it. It keeps her busy and out of trouble for long periods of time. You could also buy a few kongs and stuff them with different things like carrott, apple, cream cheese or just dog food then your pooch will be happy with all these new toys to play with.

Kong toys are hard plastic chew toys that the dogs can chew on forever and not destroy like most other toys, a must for all dogs who like to chew
You can type them in your search bar and it will pop up. They are a toy that looks like a small bee hive, and you put treats inside them like the kong spray (Like cheese wiz) or peanut butter. this will occupy a dog for hours!
Kong dog toys, in their most common form, are the hard, hollow rubber shapes that have been described. One common use is to put different foods inside of them, and then freeze (or not) and allow your dog to work to get the food. In my experience, a more common use is just as a normal chew toy.and also brilliant to throw to your dog, as the shape makes it easy to catch as well as making any bounces crazily unpredictable. Dogs love to chase after them! These rubber shapes come in a variety of sizes and colours, and in fact in different compounds as well.you can get a slightly more pliable one for your puppy, for example.leaving the very hard ones to adult dogs with fully mature jaws.

You can also get Kongs made out of tennis ball material that squeak.these are also lovely chew toys and my dog loves them. Some even float for water play.

My dog is very tough with his toys, but none of the Kongs we have is damaged in any way.they are very well made, durable dog toys.

Everyone has answered this one already. But as a Boxer owner, too, I just wanted to tell you that kongs are great. Virtually indestructible, my Boxer plays with his forever.
its a rubber thing that you put small treats or Kong paste into to entertain your dog, they have to get it out which is a reward because the dog thinks it is fending for its self. you can get them at most pet stores and come in different sizes.
they are normally shaped like a bee hive and hollow in the middle. we normally stuff them with cheese to keep the dobermann happy! they are meant to be almost indestructable rubber, our great-dane however ate hers. they come in different sizes and can be expensive but well worth it, they also bounce a bit and are quite heavy so good quality
