I got my dog "Brian" neuted on wedsnday. Now he wont look at me
& pretends i dont exist. Before he had them chopped, he used 2 run away looking for female company nearly every day. Should i have left him intact? Poor Brian. I said sorry but he just wont forgive me!

Dude! You've got to be kidding! Your dog will SO get over it! He's just uncomfortable and sore from his surgery. You would be too. I'm sure he's on meds that may not make him feel good, as well.
It is SO important to get your dogs spayed & neutered. Especially since "Brian" used to run away nearly every day looking for love. He would have eventually, if not already, had his way with a fertile female and then brought more dogs into this world. There are hundreds of homeless dogs in shelters already. Spaying & neutering is the ONLY way to even begin to remedy the already serious problem we have of dog over population.
He'll get over it and you will too!
Poor Brian, what have you done to him you rotter.
Would you accept an apology?
It's probably better for him to have the 'chop' than run away, he'll get over it. He might be a little uncomfortable so just spoil him and he'll get back to normal.
Hes feeling sorry for himself. All dogs sulk. hes annoyed with you. he'll get over it.
you did the right thing just give him some space and be REALLY nice to him. (treats walks ect.)
Your dog is just sad and it will take a few days or even weeks for him to cope. Just be loving and don't treat him any differently.
I got my dog neutered last year. He loped around the house for a couple of days, but came back to himself pretty soon. It's a big operation for a dog and he's probably still in shock, plus the change in his hormone levels. He'll forgive you when he feels better.
He will be a better dog for it. Treat him to a nice bone and a long walk, im sure he will soon forgive you.
Put yourself in his position --how would you feel?
He will get over it and be less frustrated in the end
well how would you feel if i took you somewhere (where you have no idea where your going or what your going there for) and you go to sleep and wake up and have no balls? i'm sure you would'nt want to look at me either.. you have taken away something from your dog that he was born with and meant to have, he is obviously confused and upset.
so sad!" :(
Poor Brian. He will be a bit cross with you for a while cos that was quite mean, but in time he will see it was for his own good. Buy him a big doggy treat and give him lots of cuddles and tickles. He will soon forgive you.
Get him a bone..no better not, he might think you are adding insult to injury!
You know, it is not funny. Some vets even put some artificial testicles, or prosthesis, to keep the dog perked up.
But it is amazing how they notice a difference, and even their personality changes.
Give it sometime, yours may either take life as an eunuch or punish you by making you pay for new, little rubber balls
would you let him neut you safety first m8 he will realise he loves you when you put his food on the table
You rat bastard!
Look on the bright side mate. You won't have to chase after him when he wants to kick off with another dog now. You won't have to clear up his dribble marks on your sofa any more. He will come round eventually coz you're his dad (so to speak). He won't be quite as boystrous now. You won't have to keep answering the door to his girl friends any more. He'll sleep more. You're phone bills will be cheaper as he won't be ringing his mates to see if they're up for a beer. You won't have to worry about him tryin to shag everyones legs. He'll get over it bro, don't worry
You could have gone for the fairly new op which is done for neutering dogs. The testes are removed but in their place a pair of silverskin pickled onions are inserted. Gives a cosmetically pleasing & complete effect for the dog. However, you can't let him near a cheese sandwich for the rest of his life. Hope this helps!
try buying him pink ribbons and a lace collar, poor thing!
Stick or staple his nuts back on mate. He could not afford to loose 2 stones anyway
Poor Brian. Insert 2 pickled onions into his empty ball sack, that way he'll think he's got 'em back. Mind, keep him away from the cheese.
He's just confused. Leave the poor boy be! lol!
change his name to rian or barbara or britney etc
your dog will go through a state of depression. My dog did the same thing, but over time, he will cheer up. in the mean time, try making it dog heaven for him; play with him, give him treats, extra walks, and all the things doggies love. But if he keeps up his depression, (estimated more then lets say five months,) you should talk to your vet about it. Personally I think you did the right thing. Puppies are cute, but people don't realize what a hassle they can be, so they end up spoiled or in pounds. Good luck! It won't be easy. (Said from past experiences.)
Poor Brian.
I do understand that realistically cats and dogs should be neutered, but there just seems something fundamentally wrong about taking away an animal's body parts to suit OUR requirements. After all, if the dog or cat as it comes isn't right for your lifestyle, then shouldn't you just not get that animal in the first place?
Awwww.Yeah I had both of my dogs fixed a few months back, one female & one male. My female dog was just a few months old and my male dog was like 5 years old. I had to get them fixed because he was mounting her 24/7!! Anyway she was fine but he was just as you said quieter, not as playful, stayed away from me. To be honest he started behavior similar to this when I first bought my girl dog as if he was jealous. Eventually though he came around. Since she is younger she always play fights with him, and chases him around the house, and in the past 5 months he has been healthier, happier, and alot more playful. I don't know if getting another dog is the answer but I believe he'll be fine. It sounds like the wounds are still fresh.they just need some time to heal. Good Luck "Brian"
PLEASE!! Don't post such UTTER NONSENSE!!
There are people here who'd be STUPID/IGNORANT enough to believe such B-S!!
Your dog is not mad at you. He probably just is not feeling well because he had surgery 2 days ago. In a few days he will be back to his old self :)
