My Jack Russell is chewing and scratching her hind leg. It is pink and hair is missing. What should I do?
Is there anything I can put on it?
Answers:
vet, and if that doesn't work try aloe vera
Common sense really, take the poor thing to see the vet.
Take her to the VET, she may have an allergy or been bitten by something.
First of all, stop dying your dog pink. Take it to the vet.
I think he might have fleas. Take him to a vet just in case.
take her to the vet. my pooch had the same problem. it sounds like she needs some pet shampoo treatment as well as a cream. maybe some tablets too- either antibiotics or anti-inflammatories.
Take her to vet
My mums dog started doing that when her other dog died, vet said it was beacuse she was feeling sad. That was 7 years ago and she still chews her leg but now the vet says it is a habit thing, like biting your nails. My mum covers it with horse bandages and it does clear up but as sson as bandage comes off she chews it again. Its a big, sore lump now and the vet says there is nothing we can do.
Vet time! it might be a number of things, any of those that the other posters have said. "Pink and hair missing" could even be mange.
GO TO THE VET
It sounds like a bite of some sort, take her to the vet as you will be given some sort of antibiotic cream for it
Take it to the vet could be Mange or a flea allergy
sounds like fleas ,they can cause the dog to scratch and bite.
Give the dog a bath with flea shampoo and treat with another flea treatment.
put a bucket with the bottom cut out on her head so she can't chew and take her to the vet. there are some creams you can use over the counter. i sometimes use bepathan on my dog. i figure if a nursing mother can use it on her nipples then it should be alright with my dog.
Check for fleas
No, there is nothing you can put on this; it sounds suspiciously like stress related allergy (also known incorrectly as flea allergy) and she must see a vet. It won't clear up by itself.
You may need to make some changes to her diet and routine to help her deal with it. She may need a short course of steroids.
i have the same problem. i called the vet end they said to put neosporan on it but it makes it red. when you find a solution let me know
Take her to the vet for treatment
make some popcorn and sit back and watch... duh call a vet !
it might have mites (a parasite). try putting vaseline on the leg.
try the VET
