i want to adopt a kitten i have a good loving home to offer i love cats i live in a ground floor flat with garden

see if there's an animal shelter in your area. if not, put an ad in the paper, or ask some farmers b/c they usually have barn cats that give birth, and they probably won't want to keep the kittens.

in the u.s.a. we have trailor parks. they are loaded with cats.

Just about any farm , all farms have problems with wild cats and most just ignore it as it's preferable to having rats .
try your local cat shelter. also, take a look on www.kittenlist.co.uk - sometimes there are free ones on there. i got a kitten on monday from this site. also, look in your local newspapers..if your workplace has an intranet then some people advertise on there, its worth a look. ask friends, some pubs advertise too-ive seen a few ads in pub windows where i live.
Ask your local vet for information on rescue centres, they are usually more than happy to help. Not sure if it will be totally free though, they often ask for a donation of around £20 or so to help cover costs. BUT your new cat will be ready neutered and seen as that can cost around £30-£35 its well worth it.

You also need to keep the cat indoors and be able to afford $1000 in medical bills at the drop of a hat. You also need to be able to guarantee that for the next 20 years, you will be able to keep this animal. That means you have no chance of moving to a pet-free location, marrying an allergic mate, or having children with severe allergies. If you can't meet these guidelines, then you should not have a cat right now. Wait until you can meet all these guidelines and then rescue from a local no-kill shelter.
If you get a cat from a shelter, you will end up saving yourself money. Most either include the cost of spaying/neutering in the adoption cost (at reduced rates) or have a discount at a certain vet to have it done.
Just getting your basic free cat is encouraging irresponsible owners to not get their own beast fixed.
Try a cat sanctury, they have cats of all ages. You may get a young house trained one if you are lucky, and you will have probably saved its life, so an instant bond will be formed. The phone book will be full of potential sancturies, good luck
none of the rescue homes give kittens or cats for free any more this is to ensure a loyaly responsible owner is gotten for the animal . anyone advertising in the local news paper is best bet for a free one im affraid , but queens dont breed now untill march time so kittens will be far and few between ,when a kitten is brought from a rescue centre they are usually spayed and vaccinated so the money they take is worth it as theses are expencive to be done by you ,the centres will pay for a stay to be spayed for a small fee at a nominated vets but as for the vaccinations im affriad youll pay ful cost for that .so i would say a rescue centre is best as the animal has a ful health check before you recieve it .just remember your taking on an animal for the next 15 to 18 years and not just untill you cant afford to take care of it .
