My cat has the runs iv tried giving her boiled chicken but its not worked what else can i do?

Answers:
Starve her of all food for the next 48 hours.

When her tum starts to settle, try a LITTLE boiled chicken only.

Don't let her eat anything else - keep away from milk, that causes the runs. (Only lactose cat milk is suitable)

DO NOT give her worming tabs, or any human meds.

Only when things have returned to normal should gradually re-introduce her usual cat food.
TAKE THE CAT TO THE VET. Why is this such a foreign concept to everyone??
dry toast and plenty of water
Tie a plastic bag around its bum!
you need to stave the cat for 48 hours then try a bit of boiled chicken if this doesnt work take it to the vet good luck
try worming her
dont give her milk/ lots of people dont realise that cats are lactose intolerant and shouldnt be given cows milk. they either drink water, or the milk for cats that Whiskas does
my vet sugested that my dog should have pasta- cooked and cooked chicken. we started him on a small amount of pasta twice a day then slowey introduced the chicken
having it all together for him was too much I think the pasta helped to start him back on solids
it worked for us!
dont over do the worm tablets,
Try gravy browning, It browns, seasons and thickens. If that fails give it plenty of room and stop it eating out of bins.
Give her some plain yogurt.it will balance the enzymes in her tummy again
Milk or cream can cause this, so if she's been having these you can try stopping them. But if she's under the weather with it then off to the vet you go.
Pets should never NEVER NEVER! GET TABLE SCRAPS!! It's not that hard a concept. Table food can cause serious health problems!!
Now, get off the computer, pick up the phone book, look under "V" in the yellow pages and there will be a list of veterinarians. CALL ONE!!
You may want to consider changing the cats diet. If you are feeding it wet, change to dry cat food. A good brand for digestion is Purina One brand.

It also could be a more serious problem. Check your cat and make sure she is behaving normally. Make sure she is drinking water as will. Excessive diarrhea can lead to dehydration.

You dont want to STARVE the cat, they need constant nutrition. If you see that she isnt drinking water or eating, make sure you take her to the vet so she doesnt dehydrate.
cork up the bum. failing that peanut butter sandwiches normally work for me
I would take him to a vet. He might have worms. I know when I first bought my cats this happened, they needed to be wormed. I hope he gets better.
Stop feeding it boiled chicken for one and only feed your cat dry food if you want him to have a solid stool. How old is he and has he been dewormed lately? No milk! WATER AND DRY FOOD ONLY. If you have to feed him/her only 3 or 4 times a day so that way you can watch his/hers elimination times.
i vote vet
It is difficult to diagnose an animal as they cannot tell you what is wrong. Your cat may have worms but it may also have something much more serious. If your cat has also gone off its food and is not drinking much then get to the vet tomorrow. If your cat is drinking a lot of water then this is very serious and you must get to the vet NOW as kidney failure may follow.
Try a tablespoon of plain yogurt a day. I have a cat who is perfectly fine, but has a sensitive tummy and teh vet recommended this. I gave it to him everyday for about two weeks when I got him as a kitten, now he gets it once a week, he's a little over 1 now.
First of all do not give the cat milk! Just water and dry food should clear up.
TAKE HER TO THE VET! SHE IS SICK!
First off you need to try and get to a vet soon to rule out anything bad, my friend had a dog that had this problem and her vet told her to give the dog a small dose of pepto bismol if it started having problems again. Call your vet to see if that is ok for your cat for now, but make an app. for her.
my cats get them every once in a while. canned pumpkin!
it will harden the stools a little, or if there stools are really hard, it will soften it. mix up a little in wet cat food, about 1/3 pumpkin rest food, and stop giving them dry food. the wet will hydrate them and if there hungry they have to eat the pumpkin. it will take a few days to clear up, but after wards dump all the litter out and wash the box with bleach to kill the bacteria. and make sure his backside has no dribbles, that can't be healthy for them to clean it.

but.. if theres blood in the stool, or he's acting strange or any other symptoms come up call the vet IMMEDIATELY
Try 24 hrs starvation and then dry toast crumbled up ad well cooked scrambled egg.
take it to a vet for a course of antibiotics and a thorough check up. If she has the runs for several days she may become dehydrated and suffer kidney failure and die. She may have eaten poison. Vet vet vet!
