My dog is season for the first time and appears constipated what can I give her to get her regular?

Try putting a few t-spoons of olive oil on her food everyday. Its good for their skin and coat also
canned pumpkin. They actually like it!
Some dog biscuits contain charcoal which is a good aid for their digestive systems. Ask your vet for further suggestions.
a box of tampons
If your pet hasn't bred while in her season,I suggest you go to the site below,it has a list of home medications for pets that are very safe.If she has already bred,I would suggest you contact your Vet and ask him.Site is http://www.filarescue.org/medicines.shtm.
Hope you get results.
Hiya Donna
Have you changed her diet? Being in season should not affect her toilet, i wouldn't recommend to much oils in food, once in a while is ok, but to much will cause cholesterol (fatty heart), try and give her some of your left over veg, mix it with her food or mix some fatty fish with her food (tuna in oil, sardines, pilchards, etc..)
when my dog was in seaon for the first time and she was constipated i gave her pedigree chum in gravy because it moved her insides along slightly
All thoughough it does depend on what breed she is.
p.s my dog is a yorkie
try it if that does not work then am very soz :(:(

Hi Donna
I think what your best bet is just some sugar and water mixed together,,,,, its sweet, won't cost much and diffenly will not do your dog any harm. Good Luck and a very good Question.
Thumbs up
I would suggest mixing choped raw carrot in with her food. This will give her the fibre to push things along without putting weight,or causing fatty deposits.
Mineral oil works well and is vet recommended. Just dip pieces of cooked meat in it and make sure she eats it. Do it late so it has all nite to work. But don't overdo it,,,,,,our dog is 22 lbs. and a teaspoonful is enough. You just want to get everything moving.you don't want a sloppy mess.
