My kitten drinks all day long?

My kitten is 3 months old and drinks water from the faucet and the tub and yells at you if you dont turn on the faucet for him, the problem is he is has loose stool now, should i quit letting him drink so much water, and how do i make sure he has enough also?

Answers:
It sounds like your kitty has an underlying problem causing him to be excessively thirsty. Take him to the vet for a work-up. It could be something serious
give him about 1 1/2 cups in his water bowl my 3 month old kitty just started gettin in the sink a let the water drip on him he acts like he is taking a shower
I would take a large bowl and fill it up with water and put it next to his food and see how much he drinks each day, then the next day cut down on it if he is drinking a very large amount. Hopefully you can get to a normal state where his stool is actually in one piece and where he is getting enough water.
Good luck!
You should talk to your vet. If he has loose stool then he may be drinking a lot because he's dehydrated and there could be some underlying illness causing this. Excessive drinking can also be a sign of diabetes. Your vet can run some tests to make sure he's okay.
from you question I assume your in the usa if its as hot there as it is here
he probably needs it

as to the loose stool you will probably have to bear with it for now use a drinking bowl and if he's at the faucet then show him the bowl don't let him drink from the faucet
You need to take her to the vets. It could a be sign of kidney problems bladder problems and diabetics
Assuming he doesn't have anything wrong with him (in which case you should be talking to the vet) You need to break the habit. I can put a bowl of water down for my cat and he'll look at it then follow me back into the kitchen, jump in the sink and scream until I turn the (same) tap on.
It's natural for animals to want to drink running water, in the wild it would mean that it is fresh.
You don't say whether or not you are feeding him dry food - some are really unsuitable for youngsters being high in salt and can aggravate his need for water- You may want to try Science Diet for Kittens to help his digestion.
There is a really neat cat fountain that you can get that recycles and cools their drinking water which will at least allow you to keep an eye on how much he's drinking. Mine get through about half a pint a day.
Here's my idea. Go out to a kitchen store, find a Brita Pitcher w/ filter, fill it up, and then try and ween him off the faucets. Ignore him by not turning on the faucets. Leave him out of the kitchen when you're doing dishes, leave him out of the bathroom when taking a shower. Begin giving him Brita water, which they take out whatever minerals and such from your water, which is probably what's giving him loose stool.
Take him to a vet.he could have diabetes. do you know that 1 in 200 dogs and 1 in 400 cats get diabetes .
is he thirsty, or he may have diabetes
That doesn't sound right to me I think your cat should be taken to see the vet. Also I think you should try putting loads of water out for him in his bowl and try to encourage him away from tap drinking. Our cat used to drink lots after eating those dry cat snacks so if you're not already then I would restrict him to moist catfood from tins.
Well, there may be a medical problem, then again there may not be as far as the drinking goes. With kittens and puppies, the best advice is to take them to the vet's. The loose stool may be a sign of a parasite infection. The excessive drinking may be due to any number of illnesses.
he might be diabetic See the VET
take your thirsty kitty to the vet..thats what i would do..
Get your kitty to a vet, hon, he is ill. You need to take him fast as there are many very nasty illnesses that have the symptoms you describe. Good luck to you both.
Take him to the vet, he is probably dehydrated or has kidney problems, one way to tell if your cat is dehydrated is to do the scruff of the neck test, in between their shoulder blades, gently get the fur and if it springs back he is not dehydrated, if it does he is.
