How long do the tropical fish called oscars take to grow to full size?

I recently bought an albino oscar for my tank, I also bought another couloured one last week, this one is about the size of the tail on the first one i bought, now i was told that they would be fine together but my albino has started to attack him so i has to put them in seporate tanks, How long does it take for them to grow so i can put him back in the other tank?

The growth rate of Oscars depends on the volume of water in the tank, the cleanliness of the water (low nitrites/nitrates), how much you feed the Oscar and the quality of the food, in addition to the temperature of the water. In a 29 gallon tank, filtered well, with partial water changes weekly, and kept at around 80 degrees F., and fed high protein diet, I would say a one inch Oscar could be a one foot Oscar in about 2 years. I have not seen Oscars bigger than a foot except when grown in ponds in Florida. They will easily breed at one foot if given enough room.
Oscars are bad for eating each other. I had one about an inch smaller then the other and ended up with only 1. My oscars where 14" in a couple years. I'm hoping you have a big tank(min 50 gallon). Feed the smaller one lots of good food, like beef heart, frozen worms, crickets ect to help him get bigger.
2 to 3 years eating live gold fish and night crawlers and flake or pellets
I have a pair do well together. I got them about a year ago and they were about 2 inches long, maybe less. They about 10 inches long now and in another 6-8 months be as big as they will most likely get. The size of your aquarium and the amount you feed all have a bearing on size. Heck, even the amount of air you pumping "Could" affect size.
oscars will eat smaller fish and should only be kept with large fish
Oscars get to full size depending on how well they are kept and the size of tank. They are normally kept on their own and get VERY BIG!
Two together will usually fight as they are one of the most territorial of fishes. You dont say the size of the main tank but if its under 5ft long I wouldn't keep more than one! They usually eat anything smaller than themselves!
If you have two male fish I wouldn't recommend trying to keep them together in the same tank. The best way to get them to live together is to buy several SMALL fish and eventually they will pair up naturally. You will need a tank of at least five foot. You should be able to grow them to full size in about 12 to 15 months.
oscars are very very territorial and you can't keep just two together. i had 4 and they slowly killed each other untill there was one. he is now about the size of 2 hands when i first got the 4 of them they were the size of my thumb. good luck. by the way albinos tend to be a weaker much smaller species also and if with a red or tiger oscar they will kill it.
you have to b3e careful because they tend to eat smaller fish so becareful wae them keep ur eye on them
