Our dogs attaction to cars?
When taking our young dog for a walk we are finding that he tends to pull towards cars. Any ideas on what is best to cure this habbit ?
Answers:
The best way to teach your dog not to pull towards cars is obedience classes for dogs. They can teach him the proper way to walk on a leash, and a lot of other important things. They can also show you the right way to walk your dog. If you can do that then you can teach him yourself if you have to time. You have to be very strict though and stick to it, because if you use this method only half of the time then he's going to test you and see when he can get away with it. The moment he starts to pull just stop in YOUR tracks, and then don't start walking again until the leash loosens/slackens. Then, praise the your dog for stop pulling and walk on. Then another, you can show your dog that you're the boss, by walking in the opposite direction whenever he pulls. If he persists in pulling, you should tell him ``no,'' but don't make a fuss. It's far better to praise him loudly and show affection when he lets the leash loosen up.

Glue it in the middle of a busy road and see how long it barks and pulls towards cars then. If too extreme try a supermarket car park
Create a diversion -- yell make a loud noise, stomp your feet. The idea is to create a fear of moving cars in your dog.
Carry a large stick with you when he pulls hit it on his head and shout no he will soon get the message
