Has my huskie lost his voice??

recently my 15 month old huskies voice has been sounding strange. it sounded rough/.. but now i dont think he can howl or cry as he do when i pick the leed up to go for a walk is this suppose to happen or has anyone experianced it before

we were once told by our vet that dogs couldnt loose their voice. we were hoping they could cause ours was nuts and barking all the time. then about a year ago she came home from being boarded and SHE HAD A SCRATCHY VOICE! it was crazy. we made fun of her for about 3 days until it came back. so apparently they can. i would take her to the vet tho if it happened without him barking absurdly more than usual and especially if it seems he cant make noise at all.
if she usually barks alot then her throats sore
huskies do have a different voice to oyher breeds but if you are concerned ring your vet they can probably put your mind at rest.
