My cat/kitten seems really quiet and in pain?

kitten is hardly moving, about 4months old, seems to be in a lot of pain and is wet around where his penis should be almost as if he is dribbling urine. Also really seems to cry when I gently even rub his tummy. What do you advise, tried ringing vet and told only to contact in genuine emergency. not sure if this is or not.

Answers:
it is an emergancy, get him to your local vet hospital.
fone the vet back and tell them it is. you are not to know to if its not a geniune emergency or not your not a vet. if i was you i would say it was and get him sorted out.poor little thing must be ill if hes crying in pain x
I'm not an expert or anything. Maybe he has a blockage in his gut or something. Those are kind of common.

And who is your vet? o_O
There is a certain kind of infection that male kittens can get that makes their tummy swollen and they pee almost uncontrollably. Your kitten really needs to go the vet. This disease is highly fatal.
Hi it does sound pretty serious to me, wouldnt you think it was serious if you were in so much pain and leaking urine from you bits. Get back on the phone and say it is an emergency. Your poor kitten is suffereing and only the vet can help. You have to phone the vet now or your kitten may not live until the morning. Please dont let him suffer any more. Poor thing, Let me know how he gets on.
go to the VET!
his urinary tract is obviously blocked and that is the reason for pain in stomach area and dribbling urine this is definatley an emergency !! get him to vet asap or he will surely die..my cat almost died of this. please soon..
Take him to the vet! Right away!
vet agen
Go, go now! Don't read anymore of these. Your kitten is really ill!
Well it would be a genuine emergency if it was my pet.!
did he see ur face? if he did there is ur answer enstien
GET HIM TO THE VET FIRST THING IN THE MORNING....PLEASE!!
sounds like an emergency to me.
Hi Funny
OK i had a similar problem with my cat. I had let her out the back and some how she eat slug pellets. Now that wont kill your cat but if that is the case you need to let him be left alone but make sure he is warm. He will pass alot of water and cry a lot but noting you do will help him just let it take its course about 2 days and then he will be fine . Its not fair on the cats i would never put them slug pellets down where i live, but you cat will make it and you will have a mess to clean
Contact another Vet ASAP !!!!!!!!!! Your kitten could have a bladder blockage, or worse..and 'could' end up dying if it's not treated ! sounds like the vet you did call, just didn't want to 'bother' .
Get this cat to the vet immendiately. Better to be safe then sorry. Then change vets. You pay a lot of money for the service it is not the national health. You pay, you choose. Cheeky buggers, they don't deserve your business.
Of course it is an emergency. Take the kitten to the vets now before it's too late.
i thinks you should get onto the phone a call the et and say its an emergency!! your cat doesnt seem to be very well, the poor thing!! i hope your kitten gets better soon!!
If your really concerned take the Kitten to see the Vet
If he is dribbling urine, he is probably not blocked, but could be trying to block. That is a true emergency. Also, kittens sometimes eat toys or swallow things, this could clog up and block his intestines. GET HIM TO A VET ASAP!!!!!!!!!!
it's a bloody emergency for christ sakes. Get him to a vet now, tonight. He may have a blocked tube and cannot pee. He may have been like this for days. He could be dead by tomnorrow if you don't get him to a vet. For crying out loud.
If this was your human child, would you be dithering about posting here? I bet you would be at A&E right now.
It sounds like either a partial urinary blockage, which is a genuine emergency and can make you cat very, very ill in a short period of time, or a bladder and/or kidney infection, also very serious and requiring immediate medical care. It is imperative, especially given the symptoms you described of lethargy, abdominal pain and the like, that you get this cat seen.

I'm not usually one to tell people "go to the ER vet" right off the bat because I understand that sometimes the finances are rough to manage, plus, even if one technically has the money, who wants to spend that much money if it's not a true emergency? However, we lost one of our baby boys to a urinary blockage some years back and have had one other boy with a urinary problem. Seeing firsthand how fast the poor babies can go downhill from this has made me a believer in immediate medical for any of them exhibiting symptoms like that. It's an agonizing condition, too, so they suffer greatly if not treated right away. Cats have very delicate systems, so it does not take long at all for them to become toxic if they cannot properly urinate.

Here are some tips for the future which will help if your baby is going to be pre-disposed to urinary problems-
1). Distilled water to drink (this eliminates one potential source of minerals that can cause urinary crystals and has worked wonders for our cats).
2). Soft (canned) food as either a primary source of nutrition or at least half and half with hard food. You cannot entirely eliminate hard food since that helps keep their teeth clean, however the extra fluids from the canned food helps a lot with urinary problems. Cats in their "natural" state would consume living animals and small amounts of fresh vegetation, thus gaining most of their fluids from these sources. Cats in captivity (aka the average human household) often do not drink enough water to provide their optimal fluid levels. This can cause concentrated urine and also prevents urinary crystals and "sand" from being flushed out of their systems as easily. Both of those contribute to blockages, urinary irritation, and infection.
3). High quality foods. Your average "Meow Mix" contains a few different things which can contribute to urinary blockages or irritation. If affordability is a concern, Dad's offers a "Gourmet" variety which is specifically for urinary maintenance. We've used it for some while with excellent results. For canned food, Nutro, Natural Choice and Pro Plan seem to be very beneficial, also per our own experience.
4). Your vet will tell you what sorts of crystals (if any) are present and will advise you of the best strategies to avoid these in the future. Please keep in mind that cats who have a blockage/partial blockage/urinary infection or irritation tend to have a much higher chance of a repeat of these things. All the above will help to cut the chances, but nothing can entirely prevent it in some cats. The vet can give you medications for the cat to prevent the specific types of problems your cat has. The most important thing (other than vet recommendations, of course) -in my opinion- is to flush their system with as much fluid as you can get into them for the next couple of months. I would even, were it my cat, go so far as to feed primarily the canned food with dental treats or the like for tooth health.

Keep in mind that this is mostly my opinion, backed up with personal experience and advice from our vet. Your mileage may vary, so please take personal circumstances into consideration.

For now, the best and most important thing you can possibly do is get your kitten to a vet, no matter where you need to go. I can say without the slightest hesitation that, yes, this is a true emergency. Any delay can cost you your cat's life.

Good luck and we will be thinking of you and your kitten. If I can be of any help at all, please don't hestitate to write.
this is an emergency! at least tell him what happening over the phone and he'll decide if it an emergency
Cats, especially male cats can get penile blockage caused by poor diet and urinary tract infections. This is an extremely painful condition, which can actually be fatal. Take your kitten to the vet immediately, the poor little guy is obviously in pain and you do not want him to go into convulsions or have a stroke, as he will probably not survive. If he is consuming regular cat food, make sure that it does not have any ash in it, as that is a cheap filler and can actually cause urinary tract blockages and kidney stones. Best of luck to you and your kitten, I hope you get him some help quickly.
this is defo an emergency. go to vets tonight, please dont wait till morning. poor little thing. dont let vets fob you off. try a different vets if need be. hope he is ok soon.
Thank you being such a great parent to your little one. I will pray for his fast recovery ! What a naughty boy getting in a fight and causing you so much worry :)
Could be a urinary tract infection, so important to maybe have a course of antibiotics ASAP. Could also be a hernia, though to be honest that would explain the pain but not the emissions, so not very likely.

Keep him warm, quiet and with constant access to fresh water. Monitor constantly and go back to vet if not improved within a few days or visibly deteriorating.
