Should I get a boxer or a german shepherd pup?
Answers:
Boxers are great dogs but drool A LOT,and have a tendency to be more needy than most med to large dogs. They are high energy and very playful, but need more of you than some other breeds.my grand-dog Boxer ,Zoe,is a sweet natured loving girl that lets my very small Chihuahua boss her around, but is a good protector of the little dog when she starts something she should have thought about a little longer lol Zoe the little dog advocate ...Its been years since my fathers white German Shepherd passed away but she was a fantastic loving intelligent, sweet friend. Good luck with your new puppy and I hope I helped a little in your choice. Have fun with your new friend : )
There both such good dogs .. flip a coin
both ase crazy pups, and on into middle age.
takes a long time for them to calm down.
both really smart too. time suckers to train but worth the effort if you're a dog person.
i prefer shepherds myself.
both GREAT dogs.
neither, go with the doberman
depends on where you live, german shepherd its best to have your own land not just to let them in the back garden,
boxer are playful and very loyal i myself would say boxer
just because the are easy to look after, hope it helps
I hear from people who have had boxers that they are very hyper dogs, but you can always train them as they get older. German Shepards are good dogs and come out to be good watch dogs. Depends if you have little ones around.
Look at my picture and figure out which one I'd recommend. Go with the boxer.
I would get a German shepherd. It's more likeable to me.
which type do you like more? don't leave this up to a bunch of strangers who know nothing about you/your life or which dog would fit your lifestyle.you're the one that is gonna end up with the dog, not us so its your choice not ours
shepherd dog. cause their smart
oh and if you feed it 1/3 of the dog's weight ( meat) it will shead less. it will also get stronger and smarter
the four faced master
Boxers rule.
ohh German shepherd! They are soooo lovely! My boyfriend had one a long time ago and he was so cute. Again i had one too, they are really faithful and loving dogs.
German shepherd!! Yay!
Depends on your circumstances. I have had both, and a GSD wins everytime. Boxers are very scatty and difficult to train, they will slobber everywhere and rarely settle down. A GSD is loyal and loving and easy to train, and their presence will deter burglars. OK.
I would totally go for a boxer but only if you have the time and space for one. My parents Had one when I was a baby and my neighbour has just got one but has gone thru 3 sets of blinds in 6 months! They are totally gorgeous dogs. Have fun with your new pup!
Boxer,most definitely!
German Shepherd definitely, beautiful loyal dogs, boxer no way.
boxers are better to have if you are not the one to have big dogs
It depends on what you are looking for. Shepards can be about 100 lbs while boxers can only be about 65 lbs. There is a big difference in size. Shepards can be aggressive if they are raised that way. Boxers are sweet. Both dogs are energetic. If you want a guard dog, shepards are for you. But I think you should consider health as your main focus in choosing. Boxers have poor health. They often die early due to cancer or heart failure. I've known several boxers in my lifetime and they all died by the age of 6. Mine was playing with me in a field and just dropped down dead. Shepards also have problems with their hips and joints. Because of this, they can probably on average make it to 10 years old. Both dogs have pros and cons, so good luck and I hope you are happy with your new pup!
I've never known a bad temperament in a Boxer. But I love my Alsatian who's as soft as .
Either will please you but get some training if your new to dogs.
german shephers are a brilliant family dog, but be aware these dogs like all big dogs take a lot of care. we have had 6 Germans, i just wish i could make them stay at the puppy size, they areso cute. but don't be fooled ours grew to 9 stone
i think boxers are much cuter
One word: RESEARCH! Go to www.akc.org, get books on both at the library, talk to owners of both (go to dog parks or any local park that allows dogs),ask veterinarians, go to breed club meetings for each if any are nearby. Determine which breed fits better with your lifestyle & personality. I have owned both, and am a totally devoted Boxer afficianado.but that's me. You have to decide what works for you &/or your family. More advice: buy from a reputable breeder for life-long support and a healthy pet. Good luck!
BOXER.boxers rock. i just dont trust sheppards.but boxers are fun and human like.just the best
BOXER BOXER BOXER!!
Get a boxer! boxers are more reliable to pertect you and are way better around other people and dogs but you have to train it to be that way!
I just killed my puppy. the little shite would,nt go out when i poured that petrol on the ******.
Do you know how to kill a budgie? it has to be painful, mind!
get a gs!
Personal opinion is a Geman shepherd..I have had more than one.and love them to bits! On the whole, whatever the breed, you will find a female is a lot easier to live with, and they grow up a lot faster than males! Females mature quicker..haha..what else is new? Either way, good luck, and enjoy your pup.
go to your local animal shelter and get a puppy. shelter dogs are the best and they appreciate you because you saved their life!! don't breed or buy while shelter animals die! good luck to you, hope you find the perfect companion!
From working in the veterinary field I can tell you that Boxer's are a breed with many serious health problems, especially heart disease. On the other hand German Shepards are known for hip dysplasia which can severely limit their quality of life. However, obtaining your dog through a reputable breeder that has proof that the parents of the GS puppy are OFA certified will help to avoid this problem. Good Luck with your choice!
if you want a dog that is easy to socialise get a boxer. shepherds are really hard work and need a lot of mental stimulation. if you are willing to put n the effort a shepherd is a really rewarding dog. but they are both so different these breeds. how did you come up with these two?
