I have 2 male sugar gliders and i want to breed them, should I add a female?

A friend that I have said it's a risk to add a female to the pack of 2 males, but I want to at least try to breed them. I figured someone who knows something about sugar gliders would answer my question about this. If I add a female to the two males do you think they will fight over her or should I add 2 females so they each have 1?

you'll have to add at least one! ;)

but seriously-2 or 3 or even more might be the best way to go!
If you try breeding the two males together, it won't be very successful!
you really need a female to breed them
They will fight!! keep her in a separate cage and put one male with her at a time... you can try putting them all together, hopefully both of your males are not dominate or they will fight over her...
well that would help
Hi Holly
Just to be on the safe side try this before you start to breed or add more Good luck to you and your sugar gliders Holly

As a rule of thumb, two un-nuetered males should not be kept together at all. I think adding a female will really be a destructive thing - if they are not fighting now, the addition of a female will likely cause severe rivalry between them. There's always a small chance they wont fight, but I would never risk it.

I go to a forum http://www.sugarglider.net - I recommend posting your question there. There is a TON of Sugar Glider lovers and very knowledgable people very willing to help. You can get the pros and cons of not only breeding, but adding a female to two males. I hope that helps, good luck!
I am a breeder, and trust me, if you put females in with the males, the males WILL fight over her and their territory. You need to remove one male from the cage and add a female. If you want them to breed, you are going to need another cage. Even if the female does get pregnant, there will be a lot of fighting once the daddy gets protective over his babies. Please email me with any other questions! I love talking about them!
