Are You Familiar with this Odd Cat Behavior?
Gracie the cat is very cute, but.odd. :) She frequently meows at me, stares at me until she has my full attention, then leads me to the middle of the bedroom floor and begins to lay down, streeeettccchhh out, and roll around. Then, she gets up, rubs against me, and wants to be petted. Nine times out of ten, she brings me to the the exact same spot. Occasionally though, she stops short of the bedroom to do the very same thing in the hallway. Mind you, she does this often.several times a day, actually. And, I give her an enormous amount of affection throughout the day, so it can't be for a lack of attention. Why would she do this?
Other odd things are done by her as well, but.this is the most immediate question I have about her behaviour. :) Any ideas? All help is much appreciated.

Shes an attention needy woman! aint we all. Mt honey does teh exact same thing! its tooo cute I love it! or she will headbutt my hand and force me to pet her even while Im alseep I love it! I think she just loves you tremendisly and need your attention 24/7. Maybe getting her a companion so she can share her affection with?
All cats are crazy. Craziness is normal for cats.
what this aint odd its called a stupid cat they all do stupid annoying things like that!
Cats do love the attention! Maybe she wants tummy scratches. That is what mine do when they want tummy scratches. It's weird, it is usually in the same spots in the house. Maybe they have a nice smell or something.
She's just a normal cat. A lunatic.
my cat does the same thing.. some cats just need more attention than others. and as my father always tells me "cat's don't have owners they have employee's" SO you're cat feels its your job to follow her around and pet her when she feels it necessary- and apparently she likes the particular spot she takes you to. My cat busts in on me in the bathroom and throws himself on the bathmat and insists on being pet there.
probably she wants you to leave her alone
If you like all these demands for attention, then just enjoy.not all cats are the same. If you would like to squash this attention, get her a buddy.
In this, I agree with Kitty Lover
i know it sounds nasty but you have to ignore her. once she has worked out she can get attention from you easily she will keep doing it every time she just wants to be noticed. change the cycle by maybe feeding her when she does that of letting her outside. a change in that pattern for maybe a week or so may stop her from doing it all the time. but if you respond in the same way every time then you fall into a predictable cycle that cats adhere to and its difficult to get out of. it might be awful to just ignore her when she does that but just try it for a week and she might stop bothering you after a while. fuss her when you want to and not on demand like that
What kind of attention do you give her? Maybe petting isn't enough and she wants to play more!?! Buy her some toys and let her practise her hunting skills on you by hiding around corners. :)
My cat does the same thing, except that she leads me to the cupboard where the cat treats are. We go through this whole ritual of her leading me and then having to be petted and coddled. Most of the time she won't even eat the treat!
I had one other cat who was very ritualistic. He would start kneading my belly and have to go through the whole song and dance. If I interrupted him and moved him off to the side he had to start over from the very beginning.
In humans we would call this obsessive-compulsive disorder and start Prozac, but in cats it's just, well, being a cat! LOL
she's a cat! she is just being a crazy kitty! no worries.doesnt sound like unusual behavior for a cat
are you sure she isnt on heat, does ahe stick her bum in the air too
she sounds normal to me - every single cat is different in their way yet all share the same cute madness.
My cat's very similar and is very vocal in her demands. Cats are very manipulative and will develop their 'cute' behaviour to glean rewards from humans.
your cat sounds very nice. we have recenltly been getting a local cat visiting our house. he display almost identical behaviour to your cat. Being that i have only just "met" him i was worried what his meowing was all about . i fed him some food and milk . and yet what he really seemed to want was a good stroking. Your cat sounds like she has got you 'round her little finger' . instant petting on demand, very nice. :-)
I would say that is just one of your cat's little quirks. It's wonderful that you can enjoy them!
she could be coming into season
I have three cats and I was surprised to discover that they have very different personalities. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your cat, she is just a little bit spoiled and loves attention ("I give her an enormous amount of affection throughout the day" - this proves my point). Cats develop obsessions for certain places in the house, orientals say that those are the places with bad energy which cats "cure". I don't know if that's true, but I assure you that all cats have their favorite spots. Don't worry, keep loving your cat and her crazy habits and you'll be a happy family.
how long have you had her? how old is she? if you think this is odd for her then is she neutered? if she isn't she could very well be in heat.
When they go into heat they become SUPER friendly to anything meow really loud rolls around on the floor on her back alot and trys to push her backside in the air
If she is doing this and its unusuall for her then I reckon she is in heat and wants to make kittens.
Cats are smart - they know what will get them attention when they want it. She is being a normal, intelligent, cat who craves company.
She has you under her thumb sorry paw, I'm also uder my cats paw she will climb on the fence if she shes me she will cry so I will fetch her down, but I know she can get down herself I've seen her.
Just live with it its part of her charm and you love her.
Mine does that too, it just means she loves you and doesnt want to leave your side, mine talks to me, she tells me when she wants to be fed and when she wants fuss, shes just happy to see you and loves you
I would think those are her favourite spots. Perhaps you play with here there, or something like that, so she associates those two places with your affection, and leading you there is a "hint" to do the think she likes again.
I think she has trained you rather well, as you obey her on that "several times a day". I am not a very great cat specialist, but if I were in such a situation, instead of following her to those two spots, I would pet her right where I am, so she learns that your petting her is not connected to a single place. You can also react differently by offering play right then and there (I found my cat cannot resist it if I am dragging a string on the floor - like an old shoelace or something, even if he is really exhausted or sprawling to sleep).
Try diverting your cat and see what happens and if her reaction is acceptable.
My cat does something similar. she meows at you for ages then when ever u go near her (not matter where i am in the house) she will make u follow her to the cupboard where all the catfood is. U may think "well she's just hungry" but she'll do it even if she's just been fed. god dam greedy is wot my cat is i reckon.
I have 2 cats. They are insane. However, cats are really sensitive to smells especially catnip, and they have lots of scent glands, particularly under their chins. Although you think you're being nice to the cat, really it's scent marking you and marking it's territory! It probably likes the smell of that area. Cats love to be the centre of attention - usually as soon as I start reading a paper, they sit on the middle of it or on the computer when I'm using it.
why are some sheep born black?
i have a sun conure who continuously scratches his litter at the bottom of the cage anyone know why?
my pet jack russel always barks at people and other dogs, do you know any ways to stop him that won't hurt him

Why is DogDoc in the dog house?
i have an 8 yr old bull terrier,he snapped his big tooth off,the one at the front.is it major op 2 remove?
why does my lobster hide away all the time?
Does anyone know where you can buy a corn snake from in england?
Other odd things are done by her as well, but.this is the most immediate question I have about her behaviour. :) Any ideas? All help is much appreciated.
