We had two coryadorus cat fish one male and one female. They male has disappeared?

We have searched the tank and cant find him anywhere. We were cleaning the tank out last week and heard something as if something had jumped out of the tank but we couldnt find anything. Anyway since the weekend I noticed that I couldnt see the male cat fish and we have searched all around on the floor incase it did jump out but havent found anything then we have searched the tank and still not found him. We have a large rock cave in the tank but cant get to look inside because the two plecos that we have are always in it. The two corys have mated before and I wondered as we cant find the male have they mated and he is guarding the eggs somewhere. If not could he have been eaten. This is a big mystery for us as he is not a small fish and if he had died surely we would have seen something in the tank. If anyway can help as best you can I will be grateful. Thanks

Coryadorus cats tend to jump out of tanks,if he were in the tank dead you would have seen other fish peckin on him for days before he disapeared.
sorry
I would guess they had an argument and she ate him
I would say he died as was eaten. Fish always eat the dead ususally!
he was probably eaten
The female caught him cheating on her with the other fish and ate him or she got really jealous of him looking on the other female fish and then ate him or he just jumped out the tank and you ain't looking properly for him or he decided to live alone in the cave of the tank.
do you have a cat or dog? If the fish jumped out, perhaps he was eaten by your four legged friend.
Cories tend to like to take occasional breaths of air from the surface. Unfortunately, sometimes they get a little too excited about the quick swim up that they end up jumping out (this is one of the many reasons why you need to keep your aquarium tightly covered).

If you've looked under all the plants and decorations in the tank and still haven't found him, chances are, he's now overdosed on air.

If it makes you feel any better, we've had fish randomly disappear at times, too.
