Why don't you ever see baby pigeons?

i have certainly seen dead ones on the ground beneath where they live.
look in the nest and you will but nine times out of ten when thay are kicked out of the nest thay dont fly then get run over silly birds you would think thay would fly
I never seen baby pigeons either.
Because baby pigeons like most baby birds grow up in nests. By the time we would normally get around to seeing them they would be big enough for us to associate them as adult pigeons.
Maybe by the time that mom and dad kick them out they are lookin' like small adults..
By the time you see them they are normally fully fledged and look almost identical to an adult.
They are slightly smaller and usually light in colour. For the first couple of days out of the nest mum is normally around to help out. Keep your eyes open and you might see mum feeding the young bird.
You are more likely to see them in your garden than in a busy town or city. We have one hanging around the bird table every morning. He hasn't figured out how to fly onto it cause it has a roof so he waits for the smaller birds to spill some on the floor.

becausue just like seagulls, they are raised until they are almost adult and kept in the nest.
because they are almost fully grown when they leave the nest so you cannot tell which ones are young.
This question gets asked about once a week, I'm surprised you didn't see all the others as you typed it in.
You do see baby pigeons, you just don't recognise them. They look different if you know what you're looking at. Their beaks look thinner and darker, and they're usually a bit underfed and straggly looking.
You do...if you have a nest nearby.
They are really UGLY! Only a mother could love 'em.
if you work on bridges or high buildings you will see them.
there was a question recently which asked for the identification of what turned out to be a baby pigeon. The baby pigeon did not look anything like the adults, so they are very difficult to identify.
As others have said, you do see them sometimes, when they get abandoned or fall out of their nests!

i was in washington,dc several years ago during springtime
everywhere we went there were baby pigeons on the ground
i couldn't do anything for them cause i couldn't take them on the plane
Because they are very well developed when hatched.It only takes alittle more than a week or two to look exactly like thier parents only slightly smaller unlike other birds.Seen a dead featherless one one about the size of a dove once where it fell and other babies more mature that were brought to my mother for rehabilitation.Theres very little difference.
