Is owning a dog more rewarding than owning a cat?
Answers:
Let me tell you. ever since i got my siberian husky.i have been more active happy and all together a more happy person.they are a lot of work and money and need lots of out door exercise, besides the back yard. if you think you really want one i would diffenetly get one. make sure first you know which breed.
I would have to say dogs give more affection but cats are so cute!
dogs are more commitment, cats are low maintanence and highly adorable, dogs are more loyal...why not get both? I had a dog and a cat when I was a lil gal and they got on loverly ..I am now allergic to cats ..I would have one if I wasn't (Due to the low maintanence!)
All animals or pets are lovely, but my opion I would say a cat. As I love them so much.
dogs are loyal and loving and fun
cats please themselves
It depends on what kind of person you are. I like cats. They aren't as needy, but a lot of people like that. I know a lot of people that don't like how cats act like they're better than you. It depends on if you'd rather be treated like you hung the moon (get a dog) or that you should fetch the moon yoursefl (get a cat). Good luck!
Cats are unaffectionate and selfish when compared to dogs. But then again, dogs aren't entirely the smartest animals when compared to cats. But that's cute. I'm afraid I'm bias as I'm more of a dog person.
I had a cat for 18 years, the old boy died last year and we now have a dog, to be honest i loved my old cat but the dog is lot better in as much as they interact with you and you can do a lot more with a dog, cats are great but they don't really do a lot apart from sleep and eat.
on my opinion i like dogs better because they take care of you better then a cat.
Well, dogs have their advantages and cats do also. One good thing about dogs is they're very loyal and fun to play with. Cats don't move a lot. On the other hand, cat's "go" in one spot, the royal litterbox. They are very self-centered. If I were you, I would get both.
Owning a dog is more work than owning a cat since dogs have to be let out to go the the bathroom and need excercise outside. You also need to train them to have good manners. Dogs give much more affection when the owner wants affection. However with cats you have to change catlitter too. The main thing you have to remember about cats is that they do things when they want to not when you want them to. There are definite benefits to both. I actually have one of each and they are good buddies.
My opinion is that there both destructive and messy.
I have had both. Dogs are your buddy and will hang out with you. They will do whatever you do. Cats let you live wth them, but dogs don't purr.
Didn't you know? Cats don't have owners, they have staff.
I would say, from experience, dogs appreciate your love and attention more than cats do.
They are called "mans best friend" for a reason. You are committed to them and they are committed right back.
Cats.just do their own thing. They act very stuck up.
No - cats can be just as rewarding because they love you for you not because of their pact instinct - oh and you don't need to walk them :-)
Well, dogs in my opinion are more fun-loving and constantly starve for affection, dogs also are almost always at your side and love to do anything to please you; cats on the other hand are more independent and would rather be loved when they want to be, they are not as needy.
well dogs leave much bigger rewards if ya know what I mean . no really.. cats are more independent, dogs are much more affectionate than cats it just depends on how much time you have to give your pet. If you're at work all the time then let her get a cat or vice-versa
no contest.real loyal buddies
i would like a dog because it can protect you when you need it. a cat will bookit. a dog will be there.you can play with your dog too. you guys can try to get both.
Both animals would make great pets. In my opinion dogs are more rewarding though. Dogs are pack animals so they will see you as part of their pack. If you are having a tough time deciding, get a dog and a cat.
Dogs are a lifetime commitment or at least 14 yrs ,they are as much trouble as a small child,i work alot and my dog has to go to a doggy creche but I love to walk her shes my companion and not just a pet I wont holiday out of the country because i would have to put her in kennels so holidays are a family event with the dog, with cats you could get a cat flap on the door so easier when at work but other than that they are a bit boring.
It depends on the animal itself. Each have their own personalities, and it depends on whether the animal will be indoors or out or a combination.
One thing to consider is that you can generally count on a dog being with you for years, but a cat is a day-to-day agreement. You can own a dog, but a cat owns you.
yes b/c a dog u can play with take out for walks and a cat would rather lay about the house all day if u r ready for a dog and the responsibility u need to look after a dog then i think u should get 1 but if u cant be bothered to take the dog out then u would be better with a cat
dogs are good companions as cats jsu do what they want so yes go ahead and get your dog
a dog by far.You own a dog but a cat owns you.
Buy one of each and then decide. Cats are lower maintenance. Dogs go for walks with their owners. LOL
Dog! Ignore you wife and just go out and get one!
Mine gives me a hug every day.
You will get a lot of answers arguing the case for the dog being more rewarding. This is mainly because the dog is so much more demonstrative than a cat.
BUT it is all a matter of personal preference. If your wife is a cat person she will get more out of owning a cat whereas you as a dog person will find owning a dog more rewarding.
I've had dogs and cats all my life and I really enjoy getting out and about with my dogs and I love the great welcome I get when I've been out of their sight for a whole ten minutes.
A cat, on the other hand, makes you feel really special and privileged if it chooses your knee to sit on! Cats can give enthusiastic greetings as well and I have had cats who have tried to follow me to work.
I also used to take my cats on caravanning holidays with me and the dogs!
Like I say it is down to personal preference and I would never argue for or against either. They are different species with different characteristics and appealing in their own ways.
P.S. I also absolutely refuse to be drawn into the frequently asked ' which is the best breed of dog?'. This is also a matter of personal preference.
I used to own both a dog and a cat but I would say a day is more rewarding, as always there to greet you when you walk in from work/shops. Always loving no matter what mood they are in, you can play with them, walk them and when all the world is against you, they are there to hug them and listen to your troubles, they are humans best friend for ever.
