Cokatiel HELP!?
Answers:
Accidents happen, as long as he is not longer bleeding his nail will heal up. If you are going to do his nail again either use a nail file to round off the tips,.or get some Qwick Stop from the pet stop or Vet's office that way if it happens again you will be able to stop the bleeding. If you need an other help please contact me.

Has it clotted, the wound? I hope it's stopped bleeding. It will forget, don't worry.
You need to keep steptic powder on hand. Your pet polly will be fine, but steptic powder will instantly clot bad cuts, which on bird nails is a serious thing, they can bleed pretty profusley there.
if the bleeding has stopped he should be find. No hes not going to hate you. He may not like to get his nail cut.
He'll be fine, if you want to know more about fixing birds look at my previous best answer about fixing a parakeets leg.
your bird isnt going to hate you.just let the wound on its foot heal before deciding to handle it and its feet.if you feel its that serious..take it to the vet..animals do bleed..itslike cutting a dogs nails sometimes you accidentally cut them too short and theyres flesh in their nails.it will hurt them but they wont hate you
Ok, when that happens again, on the foot or if you are clipping his wings, make a paste from flour and water. It will stop the bleeding, birds can bleed to death VERY easy! The flour and water won't hurt him if he eats it, but it will stop the blood!
As far as hateing you, I don't think so, birds are forgiving! :) Just next time talk to him sweetly and becareful! I know it was an accident but becareful!
Suggestion for cutting nails, try a nail file that goes on the perch, they work good, or just a normal nail file, that way this doesn't happen again!
Good luck!
as ur vet but make sure that he doesnt agrivate it and try 2 make it clot b sure 2 spend a lot of time comforting him and wen u clip his nails put a towel over his head or take him 2 a vet to get his nails clipped but warn them about ur prior incedent
I belong to a cockatiel group and I heard you weren't suppose to put steptic powder on the wound, but put corn startch and it will stop the bleeding.
As long as the bleeding has been stopped using cornstarch or flour , don't worry. He won't hate you. He may be a little ticked off for a while, but if you give him some extra treats and attention, he'll love you again. Just like a little kid. We all accidently step on someones toes or clip their wings a little short, or shut our kids fingers in the cupboard doors once in a while. They always forgive us too. Birds are much like toddlers, they may get mad but they can usually be bribed to like you again pretty quickly.
put a little bit of antiseptic in some cold water that should stop bacteria and in a few day it will be fine
ah no,once you made sure its all clean it shud be ok.i done before and so did my neighbour and both birds wer ok.when your doing it infuture hold the nail towards the light because if you cut too far you can cause bleeding from the vein in there nail, and they can die from that.just look after him and keep an eye on him,he might be a bit jumpy the next time you do it but i doubt it,should forget by the next time.
