I am veiwing a Springer Spaniel puppy soon, L & W boy. He has 1 white ear & 1 liver ear! Unusual?!?
I have expereince of Springers but have never seen one with such unusual markings before ( different colour ears!). He is pedigree, has good bloodlines, 8 wks old, one of 8 but the only boy. Both parents are working and are liver and white. Has anyone else ever come across this?!

Check that the eye on the side of his white ear is brown not blue. A white ear paired with a blue eye is linked to the deafness gene in dogs. If he can hear out of the other ear just be aware of the problem and don't breed from him, its hereditary.
I own a king charles caviler. I don't have much experiance, but a few of the puppies had different colored ears. All pups were pedigrees
If you've seen him with his mother at a good breeder then it should be fine. I've got a multi coloured cocker and he's perfectly healthy (see my picture!)
Not totally unusual, but you probably could not show him with the different ears. Don't take him home until the is at least 9 weeks old. They learn so much from the mother dog and the other puppies until they are 9 weeks old.
My sister used to breed springers but I don't think she ever had one with different colour ears. Cavaliers are a bit different and they do come up.
Hope you know what your letting your self in for with a springer and that you have the time and energy for that breed of dog..
I have a an english setter that has one orange ear and one whit ear and his mate has one black ear and the other is mostly white with black spots. I dont thinks in odd, just makes them more endearing!! have fun with your springer, they are great dogs!!
Have seen it, I think it is a disqualification in the show ring. So it is not unusual, just a fault.
A dog can come from good lines and have a fault. That is why there are pet quality puppies and show quality puppies. There are certain things that make a pup incapable of being shown.
And any dog with parents has a pedigree. That does not mean there is any level of quality. You often will get a pedigree with a pet shop puppy.
