Do dogs know they are dogs ?
I ask this cos I think my dog thinks he is human
Answers:
Maybe he thinks your a dog, not that hes a human?
well if he's human ask him
LOL my dog is an alaskan husky but he gets offended if you call him a dog. You have to call him wolf boy lol.He acts just like a big 85 pound baby.
Many humans don't know who they really are, let alone dogs
maybe dogs think they are humen and we are dogs.
I dont think so. My dog (well my ex g/f's brothers dog!) totally thinks he is human. He sits on the sofa, he trys to sit on a dining chair at the table etc. He will get his food from his dog bowl and sit at the side of the dining table eating it there if we are all eating at the table.
Of course they do Neil, well they do say that dogs are like there ownwer LOL
Well perhaps he is.Have you read the book FLUKE by James Herbert ? It's about a man who comes back as a dog and how he tries to make his family recognise him..Well, you never know !
My 3 are human for sure, they talk to me, even get mad and yell at me sometimes. Human? yes.
hey u got to tell your dog that he is a dog then it may know that it is a dog or it will keep assuming it is a human
anyone knows who is who.
They certainly know they're not cats.
You should read 'Fluke' by James Herbert. Great book about a dog that thinks he's a man.or a man that thinks he's a dog.. You don't find out which until the very end!!
Yes they are human my big 3 dogs talk to us sleep where ever sofa and our bed,eat like us roast dinners at weekend with gravy or course and like others have said woof and jump and get very excited. So yes i reckon they are humans.
haha.really amazing! and how did you notice that he's thinking he is human? so I think that YOU are changing into dog..if yo u start learn how does he think!! lol
no they have their own language.and word dog means something else in their language
I dont think they know they are "Dogs" as it just name we have given them I think they do know what creature they are as they recognise others dogs even when they are different breeds. Mine is always very pleased with himself when he sees himself in the mirror. I love 'em
we naturally put human traits onto our pets, the question should be whether you know you are a human or not
No my dogs think they are human and we live with them. They only sit on furniture, drink coffee in the am, take us for walks and they think we go to work to make the bones for them.
He's got you well-trained and knows who's top dog, the leader of the pack. You must reassert your authority and he will be happier for it, freed from the anxieties of thinking he has to look after everybody else. Every canine would prefer to be No. 2 not No.1
my dog thinks he is a rat. Whenever he sees a cat, he swiftly run away. shame on him!
No No and no. They think they are human, really.
Animal instinct over rules intelligence or training. Human
intelligence over rules instinct. That is the difference.
Treat an animal as if he were human will annoy it, and
likewise, treat a human as if he were an animal will
annoy him. So, yes. The dog knows he is a dog it is
natural and instinctive.
Only when they see a cat !!!!!!!!!1
sometimes
Dog? Heck, no. Too common. They think they're CANINES!
How exactly does he think he is human? does he speak? If he does you could ask him!
Interesting! I always wonder how dogs can think cos people (me at least) think in words and so how would a dog think what with them having no language ability and the like? WOW! Sorry. to answer your question i would probably have to go yes purely cos dogs know when they see another dog (they go crazy) Therefore they must know what a dog is and in turn see them selves as a dog. (how complex?)
apparently, greyhounds only recognise other greyhounds or similar looking dogs as dogs. My weimaraner sets the two up the street into a panic when she goes past them. I think mine does know she's a dog, but then she thinks i'm some kind of oversized hairless chihuahua with a funny bark.
My dog often thinks he's a cushion or pillow. 'Nuff said.
It's a big question! I think the current thinking is that only human beings are self aware, although how that might be proven is beyond me!
build chicken coop?
can i stroke and hold my rabbit during ramadan?
is it just me or are tiny dogs a waste of time ?
Is it true that you cant feed dogs pork.?

How can I keep my cat entertained in my flat - there is no garden accessible?
