Can a hamster eat acorns?

Same motive as the conkers question. It was a good harvest.

There is lethal amounts of a chemical called Tannin in acorns. They have to be specially treated to neutralize the chemical.

Squirrles and other animals have evolved immunity to them. Hamsters didn't.

No. I *think* it has something in it that could poisin the hamster.but I am not sure. But if it was good for them it would be sold in pet stores for them.

BTW hamsters are lactose intolerant so no cheese or milk.
