Can a cat that has had worms?

develop a stomach infection that causes constant diorriah and excesive weight loss?

Answers:
Go to a different vet. There is no such thing as a "gut" feeling for a medical problem. First a simple fecal test will show if the cat still has worms, or they can have coccidia or girardia (look them up on the web for more info on the symptions). As for the thyroid thing, that too is just a simple blood test, and I know, because my dog has a low thyroid and is on meds for it. So, again - go see another vet who knows what he's doing before your kitty is too far gone to get better.
It sounds logical.
yes it can, it is as hame but i guess it can, get a second opinion though.
get a second opinion
The vet is probally right but get a second opinion from another vet in a different office. Don't tell them what the first vet said until they have made their diagnosis.
See another Vet, only tests can tell, a gut feeling is not a professional answer to a serious medical condition.
I don't understand that much about meds and cats diseases and such. But your vet is a trained pro so if this is what he thinks then this is probably what it is.

Ask him questions.
Yes they can. They lose so much weight because the worms are getting the nutrients from the cats food before the kitty does.
you should have wormed ur cat before all this happened
I don't want to frighten you sweetheart but check for FELV (feline leukemia) my cat had the same symptoms, unfortunatley he died he was only 4. Like i said i don't want to cause you worry, but get him checked out for FELV.
