What happens to my tadpoles over winter? Do I have to keep feeding them?

Answers:
Ru sure you it is tadpoles you have there? All tadpoles should have changed into frogs & toads by now.. If what you have are small newts. which can easily be mistaken for tadpoles in their first year.. and they are outside in a pond, during the winter they will hibernate at the bottom, just as goldfish do. Try not to let the pond freeze over, by putting a couple of small footballs on the surface. Over winter there will be enough food at the bottom of the pond to sustain them. If you are sure they are tadpoles, then I would assume the same advise would apply, but i've not heard of tadpoles at this time of year.
Yes, they can't survive without food. They aren't miracle tadpoles.
no they will eat other things in the pond and by winter they will have turned into frogs.
tadpoles a this time of the year? I had mine in the spring and they are all frogs now!! The look after themselves in the pond and dont have to be fed.
they will have turned into litle frogs by now and will hibernate in the winter. Females will hibernate on land in a nice damp spot and males hibernate under water.
IF YOU WANT THEM TO BE FROGS SOMEDAY, YES
how did they stay tadpoles?
they will eat things that are in the pond. by winter they should be frogs though
no, they will b fine
Do they not turn into frogs??
If your tadpoles hatched in the spring, then they will be frogs by the winter time!
