How do train my dog to stop barking in the car?Any other time she is perfect.?
I have a German Shepherd/Collie cross. 6 yearsd old who is as good as gold a part from when we put her in the car to take her for a walk and she does these very high pitched barks that are ear piercing along with being dangerous as they make me so stressed when Im driving.

You have my sympathy - my last dog used to do the same horrible high-pitched barking in the car everywhere we went. We tried to go on holiday with him as a family and we all just ended up really stressed and yelling at each other!
It took a long time but he did get better. He got really wound up and over-excited in the car, so we used to put him in the car for an afternoon sleep then bring him back into the house without going anywhere. He started getting a bit more used to it and realised getting into the car didn't necessarily mean an exciting trip somewhere. Also try putting her in the car well before you want to go out - that might give her a bit of time to calm down before you get in and start driving. If all else fails I recommend earplugs. Good luck!
Sounds to me like your dog is also stressed when in the car.
My chihuahua used to do the same thing so I started taking him on lots of car rides and when he'd bark I'd say "shhh, quiet" or "no barking." When he would be quiet I would praise him and give him a treat. You can sit in a parking lot and do this. It's worked wonders and he rarely barks now. Normally dogs bark in cars because they think they are defending their territory.
I agree with fluffy he is right! reason she barks in the car cus she s uncomfortable and stressed
She's over excited. Sounds like you need to take her more often. Why must you get in the car to go for a walk?
I would do the same like Jen P!
my terrier used to do this all the time so i use a water pistol she hates it and sits down and sulks. good luck
take a jar of coins with you, and every time she barks shake it. she will learn that if she barks she's gonna hear this scary noise, and so she'll stop. i've done this and my dog is a great travel companion now.
Some dogs just don't like travelling. You could get somebody to sit next to her and see if that helps, if they comfort her she may calm down and eventually understand its ok to travel. If not you will have to accept that not all dogs like travelling. I would definitely not use a water pistol as this will distress her more.
Your dog barks because it is trying to protect you from other people. When she stops barking, use hand signals, a treat, and a loud clear voice saying 'quiet' to your dog. Don't yell at her because she will think that your joining in with her and continue to bark.
how about sending her to puppy kindergarten even though she is not a puppy it might work. tell the guide about your problem and see what they can do
