Are they're any species who shield their eyes in sunny weather for by humans?
Answers:
ape species will do so with large leaves and such holding them over their head or use their hand. Fish (which do not have eyelids) will seek shade to block the sun or go to deeper water. Most all animals do retreat from the sun in shade. Some species have multiple eyelids that help do so also.
If my cat is lying on her back in the sun she puts her front leg/paw across her face covering her eyes!
birds would but would fall out of the sky or fly round in circles
