The fireworks have started already, my dog shakes like a leaf, how can i help her?
Answers:
u can get somethin off the vet 2 calm her, when it thunders and my cats get nervous i shut the curtains ,put the lights on, turn the tv up, and make a fuss of them. ive got a siamese kitten who hasnt heard fireworks yet so im dreadin it,( i am also due 2 give birth around bonfire nite so it will be fun at our house!) hope ur dog is ok.
take her upstairs in a bedroom
All dogs do the same thing. We bring ours in the house and turn up the music or tv.
Just comfort her and be with her. its natural for dogs to get scared of fireworks just give her more attention than usual.
give her a good pruning

my vet suggests a couple of benadryl for my 85 pound lab. works
great and makes them drowsey. it is better than heavier drugs on the
pooch!!
Keep the dog inside and let her sit near you or with you until the fireworks are over. Talk calmly to her so she'll feel more secure.'
she obviously doesnt like loud sounds.Keep her inside and intertained with something thas not loud!
sit wth her and pet her to calm her down. Talk to her in a soothing voice. HUG HER!
It sounds horrible but you must never be sympathetic towards them if they show any fear; it just confirms their suspicion that there's something to be afraid of. Be a bit jolly and cheerful - and try not to jump yourself! Have noise going in the background because a sudden bang sounds louder when it appears in a background of silence.
If your dog sees you acting confident and unconcerned then it will give him confidence.
If he's nervous then you can get a small dose of sedative for bonfire night.
I don't agree that all dogs are like that; gun dogs aren't bothered by noise and shotguns are a lot louder. My last dog used to get a packet of balloons at Xmas, we'd blow them up and he'd chase them around and burst them. I can't stand a balloon bursting in my mouth, it didn't bother him.
u should take her to someplace quite. And whisper softly eirther in her ear or just whisper softly to her.And say "its okay girl/boy"and give her hugs. That what i do to my dog when shes scared. And thats what i do to calm her down.
spray the dog with the hose trust me it works
i think, but i don't know, but i think you can get your dog a sleeping pill that will make your dog sleep
You can get some drops that you put into their water bowl it does help to calm them down , you get it from Pets at Home, sorry I can't remember the name of it but I am sure they will advise you if you pop along, the thing to do when dogs are scarred of fireworks is not to pander to them as it just makes them worse, try putting some music on that's calming, don't put them in a room separate from you if you can help it, just keep an eye on them and make sure they have water available.
my dog hates them too, we always stay in with her when they are going off but she still gets really anxious and we have to give her sedatives off the vet, i hate doing this cos she is so out of it she can't walk and stuff but its the only way to calm her down. we limit it to nights that are really bad such as 4th 5th 6th Nov and new years eve, good luck
