Do electronic flea killers work?
Came home from holiday to find house with a flea problem, funny as I do treat the cat...can anyone tell me if these electronic flea killers are any good?
Answers:
Fleas don't live on the cat, they live between the floorboards, under the skirting and in the garden. They lay eggs on the carpet, when they hatch out they sit and wait for the cat to come along and jump on for a meal. Then they jump off.
The flea trap which is a light bulb and a sticky trap does work, the fleas are attracted to the warmth and jump on; then get stuck. But its no substitute for treating the cat every month, and hoovering every other day. Empty the dust bag in the garden, bag the contents and put it straight in the bin.
Remember that fleas carry tapeworm eggs do your cat will also need regular de-worming.
NO
reccommend you watch bid tv. always advertizing them
not sure
no powders do.
No. Flea collars of any kind - electronic, medicinal, etc. do not work. They will only "treat" the surrounding area (the neck). The rest of the body is left untreated and therefore open to fleas, ticks etc. I use Frontline Plus on all 3 dogs and my cat. I have used it for 2 years, and have NEVER had one problem or flea. It is a liquid that you put on the back area between the shoulder blades monthly. The liquid works it way in the blood system and therefore covers the whole animal so that when the flea or tick tries to "plant" itself, it won't because of the taste. If you currently have fleas, give a good flea bath, and treat with frontline plus. It may take the first month to clear up completely, also make sure to "bomb" the house (without your pet in it). Best way to do this is take the pet to a groomer for the day & bomb while you are out. Be sure to read the Frontline, I think that you cannot wash the pet for 2-3 days after treatment. Just make sure you treat properly so your animal and yourself will be flea free and comfortable!
Yes , although your pet could have a serious alergic reaction and die !!!
Fleas do not have ears. They have an exoskeleton that is so hard you have to pinch them in tweezers or between your fingernails untill they pop to kill them. electronic soundwaves will not kill them or repell them (nice theory though) Light and heat may attract them. but the adult population in your house is only 1% the other 99% is in different stages. your house will have to be completly treated and the animal will have to be treated (Vet flea products are the safest to use on your animal, there are the rare occurances where the animal will have an allergic reaction to the product, but they are safer.) Zodiac makes an excellent premise spray. use it regularly and follow the directions. The only other thing is to move to the interior of your continent. Fleas will not usually survive where it gets too cold in the winter and doesn;t stay wet. or where it gets superdry in the summer. GOOD LUCK!
No. I bought one couple of years back. In hours of combing I frizzeled I flea. I find a good house hold flea spray for furnishings and carpets.used as soonas you have treated your cat with one of the flea killers that you put on its neck, keeps the problem at bay..In hot summers like this the cat may need treatment monthly.
not really they do kill them but use that and buy front line cat flea spray it works and lasts about 3 to 4months good luck x
