My dogs peeing habits x?
does anyone else own a female dog that cocks her leg when doing a pee? my akita squats like any normal female, but she lifts her leg up off the ground at the same time, think its weird, maybe its cos the dogs i go for walks with are males and shes got it off them, what do yous think?

Our female sheepdog has done exactly the same since she was a pup(now 5yrs), as her fur on back legs is long we assumed she was trying to keep this fur dry and clean.
My friends female dog used to do that, she hasn't got it anymore. No one knew why she did it, just one of those things
My yorkie does the exact same thing.
My female chihuahua does it too. She also marks over areas where my other dogs wee as well. She does it more when the grass in the garden is a bit longer.. I think it must tickle :S
