How can I stop other cats from coming into my flat and eating her food?
As I don't want to take away her freedom by locking the catflap and can't afford an electronic one.
Non-violent answers please as I love cats and wouldn't wish harm on any animals.

I agree with other posters. Stop the free-feeding. It isn't healthy for her anyway.
Give her breakfast and let her out. If the food is picked up other cats will soon learn that it isn't a source for their snacking when they want. Then give her dinner at dusk and close the cat flap. I do hope you keep her in after dark because that is the most dangerous time for a cat to be outside.
don't free feed, have specific feeding times.
make a decision ot either restrict her freedom or her feeding times.
The only thing I can think of under the circumstances is to only feed your cat once a day, while you're there to supervise.
sqirt gun. worked on training my cats
Put her name on the Bowl.
kick them
A slingshot filled with flaming cotton balls will do the trick.
i really don't think there is a answer 2 your question.. except 2 move..
put lots of chilli pepper in it,, that would put them off.
You sound like you love your cat..but the dangers you are exposing her to by allowing her outside are too numerous to mention. It is not cruel to make a domestic cat an "Indoor cat" it is responsible pet ownership. The other cats that are coming in are porbaly the same cats she is hanging out with when you aren't home. She is being exposed to SO many pathogens..i can't even get into it. Cats are not dogs...they do not belong outside. They are called domesticated for a reason...they do not need to roam to be happy and healthy.
i dont think you can but if you ar at home , monitor it, i know it is difficult
i would take away the cat flap just go and call her in when its feeding time she will get used to it and will meow at the door to come in and go out hope this helps
close the catflap-and let the cat out-and open for it when its time for the cat to come in-for a few days when you can monitor it-animals are creatures of opportuninty-take away the others opportunity -should work-another is feeding your cat in a room like the bathroom-no food no desire for most cats to come in-till winter anyways-prayin in Jesus amazing grace for you-thanks
If you want to help your cat then you need to be tough..arm yourself with a water pistol, or one of those super soakers if you want the cats to fly, and hide. then when they stroll in STRIKE !!I love cats but you need to show them who`s boss, and it`s your cat.
I'd say what somebody else said, a squirty gun, but don't let the cats see it, just spray them on the head when they try to come through the catflap. All it does is scare them away. I used it to train my cats and if you look on any websites, it's also what they suggest.
get a dog
just watch and remove any cats you dont own - you can't stop them there cats
Get a dog. Seriously try one of those collars that has a magnet that opens the cat flap,so only your cat can enter. Otherwise if you catch the other cats, try spraying them with water from a water pistol or plant sprayer as cats do not like water and doing this will not cause any physical harm. You still want to stay friends with your neighbours.
what about the cat flaps that are magnetic and only work to the right type of collar - little expensive though
the same happens at our house, once found my cat on the worktop shaking with fear because a big tom was sat eating her food
you can buy electric timed feeding bowls - that way, only when you time it to, can your cat get her food. they are about a tenner but really worth it.
only put food down at set times a day they will soon bugger off when they don't smell any food
Set feeding times and get a water pistol or catch the interlopers and give then a darn good dunking under the cold tap. They don't like it but it's not painful and cats aint stupid and will soon get the message and stay away,my friend had this problem with a visiting Tom who used to spray in the house she only had to do it once and it never came back!
either have specific feeding times and remove ay uneaten food straight after or the best option is a magnetic cat flap then no other cats will be able to enter
CLOSE THE ******* DOOR KNOB HEAD.
buy a cat flap with inferred or magnetic callers works at my house (no stray cats)
you can't unless you get rid of the hatch
why is it that dog owners will not keep there dogs off beaches? cannot children every have fouling free areas?
wats the difference with mens and woman's jodhpurs?
Does your cat have its own personality?
I love rats but most girls hate is this true?
what is this questunaire like?
Why do dog owners get annoyed when my 4 yr old son is scared of them?
