Has my cat lost her mind?

My cat Chaos has always been energetic but lately she's began to run around as if chasing something and running up and down stairs and watching the wall as if following a bug or something. Has she gone crazy do you think? She has also begn to make funny meiwing noises and pushing herself along floor with back paws but her tummy is on the floor.

Answers:
Even though your cat has been spayed, she can still at times act as though she were in season, (mine has done it). Mine also acts irrational, as if she is chasing something, and her eyes wonder around and up the wall as if she can see something that i can't, it does freak me, because like someone else has already stated, they are supposed to be physic. It depends if you believe in stuff like that? This is my second long term cat, and they have both done it. But I think its like kids, you give them all the best toys to play with, but they would still be happier playing with your saucepans. Its probably just another way of them playing.
change her name, see if that helps!
sounds like shes in labour!!
Maybe she can see dead people :O
They say cats are the most i don't know how to put it... physic, they see things that we can't see she might be chasing something paranormal such as a deceased relative or pet, i don't want to scare you but mine have done this stuff before and this is what i think and if you listen to physics such as Sylvia Browne she'll say the same, No folks I'm not crazy LOL ;)
It could be that she is demanding more attention.not that i am saying you dont give her enough already but cats are strange creatures and will change their habits quite often,, i know.mine is 15 years old and really strange.of course it could be something deeper so i would take her to the vet and have her checked over.if nothing else it will put your mind at ease.cats eh.don't you just love em..
Sounds like she is in heat/in season. Has she been spayed? If not keep her away from any males!
She is wishing she had a boyfriend since sounds like she is in heat. She will do this on a regular basis until she is either bred or spaded.
Has she been neutered as it sounds awfully like shes would like a mate. Having said that it could just be in the air. My cat is always running up and down the stairs almost like it is for exercise. She is palyful and will always find something you can't even see to play with. Maybe get her a few doys.
how old is your cat?mine went like this aged 12 he'd suddenly leap in the air, stare at things that wern't there and he seemed to lose touch with reality.animals can become senile as well and my old cat was also starting to fit around this time.take your cat to the vet to check for no underlying health problems.
No, she hasn't gone crazy. She's playing. Cats are very energetic creatures in nature. Even tho they have been domesticated for 150 years or so, they still have a predatory instinct and the way they express this is through play. Take some time out of your day to interact with her, run around the house with her or get a toy that you can control and she can stalk. Mine love those fake mice that are covered in rabbit fur.
As for the mewing and pushing with the back paws, has she been fixed? If not she may be in heat when she displays this particular behavior.
Hope that helps!
Have you wormed her?
well i cant tell but i would take her down the vets just to be safe! x
no, cats dont get horny when they have been 'fixed'. in the case of female cats both the womb and ovaries are removed, leaving no sexual hormones and therefore no sexual urges.

my cats run up and down the stairs like mad, i presume its some sort of game and you have to be feline to understand the rules. they also watch walls, looking for bugs or just following shadows, and yes, they leap at them for no good reason.
yes even after cats are fixed they can sometimes still have a tiny piece of ovary in their body. It is very rare this happening but it does. When that tiny sliver of ovary is there is is still producing their female hormones, so yeah she can possibly be in a false heat.
Either that or maybe she is just a mad cat, I have had a few of those as well, full of beans a character!!
i think your cat is losing her mind because shes acting like crazy..
sound like she might be haven kittens.
No she's just playing. Sometimes it can be the breed - I had Burmese Cats for many years and they did the same thing, leaping and running all over the place, chasing shadows and other things that didn't appear to be there!! Sounds like you have a fun loving puss - enjoy!
No, she has not lost her mind. This is normal. Every cat i know does that. Its just a phase. She will be fine after a while.
Much effort has been wasted attempting to describe the behavior of cats in logical ways. They are inherently irrational yet intelligent beings. Your cat may be participating in some sort of complicated imaginary game with rules known only to the cat. It may be recieving instructions from aliens or have psychic powers. It may be just be a cat. Chaos was a good name!

The tummy thing is probably just because Chaos's stomach itches. Scratch it for her and see if she likes it. Seriously, I once had a cat that ran up and down a flight of stairs all day for no apparent reason. I assumed she was bored, and played with her for a while. I think she knew this was a good way to get attention.
