Do fishes sleep?

Answers:
yes they do, you can see then on the bottom of a fish tank, put they dont have eyelids so they cant close their eyes.
yes
yes
i would have to say yes
only when you're not looking
of course they do otherwise they would be very very tired little fish
It depends (on what it depends, I however do not know)

I hope this helps.
What is "fishes".
yes, they do
Yep, I've scared the crap out of mine before coming home early in the morning, surprised he didn't break the side of the tank.
nope, they just rest
they sleep with their eyes open.. not suprising really as they have no eyelids.
Yes- they don't lie down at the bottom of the tank or anything- but mine kind of float sideways a bit any hardly move their fins. They don't close their eyes. I don't think they have any eyelids.
Of course, all living creatures sleep. Mine usually go into a corner of the tank and stop moving. That's why you need to turn the aquarium light off at night, so they can sleep properly.
Most animals have some daily pattern of rest and activity, and in many species these daily cycles are similar to people running around during the day then lying down at night and doing nothing or sleeping. It is believed that fish are no different, although it is a controversial subject. Some fish keep very still, experiencing a quiet period (quiescence) that you might call sleep. Scuba divers often handle reef fish in the middle of the night without startling them and can even lift some species out of the water before they awaken. Tropical freshwater fish in home aquaria appear to be resting immediately after turning the lights on in a room that has been darkened for several hours. Unfortunately, fish have no eyelids so it is difficult to tell whether they are asleep or not.
no but fish do
I dont know, but Dolphins sleep with half their brain at one time so they can surface and breathe .
It is known that sharks do NOT sleep. (I don't know about other species.) Nor do they have periods of relative rest. They just swim on and on the whole of their lives.
Yes Every living thing sleeps.
not as you and i believe sleep to be but they do rest..mostly at the bottom of the tank.and when the light is off. my betta use to ''sleep'',,,he'd go behind the filter and take a snooze..he would could out if i tapped on the glass..
Yea, they sleep with their eyes open
yep
Yes - with their eyes wide open!
My fish do they rest on the bottom of the tank.
yes they do
yep, mine are normally sleepin when i get up.

its alright for some. you will see them at bottom of tank, just floatin there, without a care in the world, no rent to pay, food to buy or kids to kit out. its alright for some.
Most all fish spend time in an energy-saving state that can be called
"rest", and we might even call their behavior "sleep", though it is probably
different than "sleep" in most land
animals.
Fish need to keep a regular flow of oxygenated water passing over their gills, as such they do not sleep in the sense of how we understand sleep. They tend to move to the bottom of the aquarium and are in a very passive state.
Yes, They Sleep With Their Eyes Open And You Can Tell When They Are Asleep Because They Are Just Keeping Very Still.
i think so. someimtes in the night when i turn my light on they are kinda on the bottom of the tank relaxing, then after a few seconds they "wake" up. all living things sleep, we just dont see it x
