Pet insurance?

My friend's cat was treated for cystitis some months ago. The vet told her that this sometimes happens in older female cats and could recur. If this happeded the cat would have to be placed on medication for the rest of her life and as this would be very expensive she was advised to take out pet insurance. She unfortunately didnt do this and now the cystitis has come back. When she looked up about pet insurance she has discovered that if the cat was treated for this condition before that she wouldnt be covered for this. Do any of you know of an insurance company that she could try or how she can get around this problem?

Answers:
if she does get pet insurance now, the cystitis will NOT !! be covered as it is seen as pre existing now, cystitis is not a expensive thing to treat, my cat has it ,she should take out insurance anyway for the future, she wants one that has a LIFELONG COVER , like petplan or more than these are the best one for her to try
Sorry mate. All insurance companies will exclude pre exisating conditions. If u think about it u can understand why. You would pay them £20 per month and they would have to pay the vet alot more than that.
she could get the medication through an online supplier and the medication is cheaper. Labriar Vet Supply is a good one. I have had both cat/dog prescriptions filled through the company.
Sorry, insurance companies normally exclude pre-existing condition, I think she's left it too late.
Agree with the other posters, although you could try Petplan as they are specialist pet insurers. I doubt that they will be able to help either though but it is worth a try.
I agree with the others. But if she still has the time to put a little money aside I could only suggest to open up a savings account a put a little money aside for when she will need it !!
NO pre-existing conditions covered and premiums for older animals are HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
All insurance companies will exclude pre exisating conditions.
Sorry but all insurance policies excluding existing and previous conditions.
