They are limiting each household to one dog because of rabies. Only 3 percent of dogs are vaccinated against rabies and its a big problem. 318 people died in September because of rabies.

The Chinese authorities beat pet dogs to death in the street infront of their owners. It's a national disgrace. They hide behind the rabies scare as out of thousands of slaughtered dogs, less than 1/2% had rabies. The Chinese are a very cruel nation to their people and animals. The animal cruelty is APPAULING - hell really is a place on earth to an animal in China.
China is an enigma; ultra modern on one side and mediaeval-minded on the other. Korea is the same.dog eating and butchering them in front of each other because they believe adrenalin makes the meat taste better. It's hard to get past idiotic folk-superstitions sometimes, but when the government make it law.

discraceful can't believe a government would be able to act in these ways i'm sure the chinese population don't want these horrid laws.
chinese only eat a kind of dogs raising for meat and dont kill dogs by themselves as you wont kill cows in your yard...
ps:cattle is considered to be a blest animal in many countris like india .so i think they may also think eating beef is enigma...

Well,this is my first time live in China now, and first time I think Chinese love dogs! Because I can see almost every family have a dog or they like to feed street dogs! How sweet! But I just knew that they are kind to dogs are for purpose! People told me that Chinese like to eat dogs to strengthen their body in winter or when the weather is getting cool and cold; and then they will kill dogs or just sell their lovable pet dog to the restaurant to exchange money! God! that's horrible!
im chinese.. born in U.S.. so i never had to do any of these things or see any of these things.. but this is really embarassing for me that my country would do this kind of thing.. but remember.. China is still a communist country so.. you cant really do much.. as for the dog killing.. its appauling..
