What is the optimum frequency for covering mares with a thoroughbred stallion during the peak breeding season?

im looking to know the maximum amount of mares a single stallion can cover without lowering fertility during the peak breeding season (mid march-end july). whats a safe rate to eliminate low ejaculate volume/semen quality problems based on rate ie number of coverings a day, week, month? what rest periods should be used - when, how often and for how long?

i own a hanoverian stallion and a few others! during peak breeding season he covers around 40-50 mares and takes everytime! i rest my stallions for a week every 4 weeks and they cover around 3 mares a day.
the nack ive found is to keep your stallion in very good condition and feed correct stallion food! i feed high fiber cubes and oats to keep him in tip top condition! use a supplement designed for stallions.
my other tip is get your mares smeared before you mate to eliminate all dieseses and problems, if i were you i would only use tb mares or limit the number of x breeds you use.
