Can cats have Downs Syndrome?
Answers:
Your question really caught my eye, when i was a kid our cat had kittens and one looked downs syndrome, we called her dottie because she was dottie she clouldn't jump like normal cats she'd aim to get on the top of the wall and she'd just jump and bang her head on it and she'd run into walls and it wasn't her eyesite she just seemed a bit simple. She was the sweetest most affectionate cat ever, but she was puddled.
yes
Yup
No, but I see where you're coming from! They must have some chromosomal disorders! Perhaps they have their own that we humans can't have!
So funny you asked that! My cat had 4 kittens and one of them looks down syndrome, poor guy! Its the eyes i think...
I suppose it is possible, ask your vet
Yes they can. Down Syndrome appears if there is something wrong in the embryo. That can happen to cats too.
Our neighbour once had a foal that had a kind of down syndrome. Boy, that looked weird ! I was really sorry for that foal, but at the same time it was fascinating. In the end they had to end it's life because it would not be accepted by the other horses and needed way too much care.
Apparently some people think that cats cause Down's Syndrome!
Im sure they can, i know for a fact they can have AIDS. Took my cat to get fixed and they asked if i wanted to have him tested for Feline HIV, so why not downs too?
No. Down's Syndrome is the name of a specific chromosome error in humans.
If you mean do cats have genetic diseases, yes they do.

I am not sure if one of these results in the cat being "slow". There really isn't a good cat IQ test anyway.
Everybody who has had more than one cat knows that some cats use everybit of their walnut-sized brain and some cats dont even stretch what they have. I had a brother and sister pair once and the girl was clearly the brains of the outfit. Genetics? or just the well know tendency of males to act before they think?
No. Your choromosomes are different than cats. Down's syndrome is caused when someone has an extra copy of a specific chromosome. And since when have people with Down's syndrome acted odd towards objects. I think your question is igonorant and somewhat of an isult to ppl who have this disorder. Just b/c your cat "looks funny".
No. Down syndrome is specific to human beings, although scientists have created a mouse model which has similar chromosomal make-up to Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) but it is not exact.
However, I find it incredibly callous and insensitive of you to associate the behaviors you describe as being related to Down syndrome. Big heads, jackass stunts..none of that is indicative of Down syndrome and shame on you for even suggesting it.
