My mate says he as got a pit bull american one?
Answers:
It's proper name is : American Staffordshire Terrier. They make a wonderful pet, great with children, very loving. But, some people take advantage of their strength and train them to be mean, and you have to work at that.
The toughbest arguably are the black Irish Pit Bulls, slightly larger and stronger. I had a cross between an Akita and a Staffordshire Terrier, not the white one, it was very strong, a great pet and loved children. It was stolen 4 times. I got it back 3. It was taken because someone thought it would be good for fighting in a ring.
Not permitted, some places.
Irish staffs and Pit bulls are different. Irish staffs are long legged staffies. Pit bulls are slightly bigger. PB's need to be muzzled in public places, staffs dont
AMERICAN PITT BULL TERRIERS R ALLOWED , otherwise why would i have 2 xxxxxxx
They are allowed. Good friends of mine had one but they had to have her destroyed as she attacked far too many people.

a staff is a breed and a pitbull is a type
Staffordshire bull terriers and pit bulls are different breeds.
Irish staffs are simply taller, larger staffs. Pits are a type rather than a breed and can vary considerably in size and conformation.
Pit-bulls are required to be registered and neutered in UK.
Technically speaking, they should no longer exist here as the breeding and import of pits has been illegal for years.
According to the Dangerous Dogs Act american pit bull terriers are illegal in the UK. Even dogs judged to be "of pit bull type" can be destroyed. Most pit bulls should be dead by now as the ones that weren't destroyed should have been castrated.. but I suppose there's a chance it could be one.
