My male budgie's poop is runny?
i have 2 budgie's in a cage male/female approx 1 year old.
just recently my green male budgie has runny poop. at night he sits on his swing. and in the morning there is a pile of light green poop in a mound on the bottom tray, looking rather runny/
they are both healthy fast flyers and there is no change to manner.
they eat trill and have grit and all the extras like cuttle fish , etc, i have not given them greens for ages because i thought this might be the problem, anyhow the female budgie's poop is fine,
so whats charlies problem >>?

Oh no ..poor Charlie ..xx
if hes eating and acting fine I wouldnt worry about it but Id take him to the vet just to be safe.
Maybe he wants a divorce?
Just kidding sound weird call a veterinarian. He might be your budgie's only hope. And Good Luck.
green poop is nothing to worry about. especially after a night of very heavy drinking and heroin shooting.. runny poop is... runny poop means that you have no respect for your fiber intake.. simple solution is sawdust sandwiches and popcorn.. lots of sawdust.. lots of popcorn. and lots of rum and beer and good heroin should restore bowels.. nobody likes runny poop. but we all have to deal with it. i recently shaved off some cauliflower like growths that developed on the tip of my penis.. aside from the bleeding there were no complications though,

If there's an answer for a budgie, I've found out it's on Talk Budgies. My birds have never had light green droppings, but they have had runny ones, and sometimes it's helped a little to sprinkle a couple of oat flakes onto their food or feed them directly to them. It shouldn't be overused, because oats absorb fluid and expand, and can cause discomfort in large servings, but it helps firm up diarrhea. Just one or two a night. Try one first.
It will only ease the symptoms of anything that might be wrong, but until you decide why you might notice this, it will help him absorb nutrients from his food better than he may be right now. He's probably just fine. Good luck.
I HAVE A FEMALE BUDGIE AROUND THE SAME AGE AND SHE SUFFERS FROM THE SAME PROBLEM.
SHE HAS HAD IT SINCE I GOT HER AND HAVE TAKEN HER TO THE VETS BUT ALL THEY SAID WAS TO CHANGE HER FOOD SHE WAS ON AND THAT IT WASN'T ANYTHING TO WORRY.
SHE STILLS SUFFERS BUT SHE IS VERY WELL AND HEALTHLY, AND VERY LIVELY!
I WOULD SUGGEST IF YOUR BUDGIE CHANGES IN ANY WAY FROM HIS NORMAL BEHAVIOUR OR LOOKS TAKE HIM TO THE VET'S. KEEP FRESH ( FILTERD OR BOTTLED WATER ONLY !! NOT TAP ) WATER EVERYDAY AND ONLY BUT IN A SMALL AMOUNT OF SEEDS IN THE FOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM JUST FOR THAT DAY AND CHANGE IT ALL THE NEXT DAY. ANY FRESH STUFF ONLY KEEP IN THE CAGE NO MORE THAN 2 HOURS.
IF YOU ARE REALLY WORRIED I WOULD SUGGEST TAKING IT TO THE VET'S.
DO YOU BUDGIES SHARE THE SAME CAGE? BEIING OF OPPPOSITE SEX I WOULD IF YOUR NOT PLANNING TO BREED THEM I WOULD SEPERATE THEM. AS YOUR OTHER BUDGIE ISN'T AFFECT WITH DIAHORREA I WOULD TAKE IT AS A SIGN IT ISN'T TOO SERIOUS AND NOT TO WORRY TOO MUCH. I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED.
i have 2 budgies i think there females there cered keep goin brown then blue itd really quite scary lol sometimes there poo goes runny like this to but doesnt stay like it for very long its just a one off i wuld c if he continues doing it if so then take him to the vets
He probably has eaten too much and has the runs. I have 15 birds and have budgies all my life. They are prone to tummy upsets and this is just one of such like. Wait till it farts, OMG!
Are your Budgies moulting? Budgies, when moulting are very susceptible to other illnesses whilst moulting.(A tonic is a good idea at this time) That said, they do sometimes get loose droppings during a moult. Do you give your bird fruit? Are you washing it thoroughly?
It may be worth separating your Budgies, just in case this may be the start of Enteritis. This is characterised by loose, green droppings which may be watery,or even bl**dy.Affected individuals should be isolated as such infections can be transmitted via the droppings. This being the case, you will need to remove your other bird from the cage and disinfect it,scrubbing the perches, seed pots, etc. You say there is no change in your birds behaviour, are aware that birds do hide illness, and usually once an owner notices the bird is unwell,it is normally too late. The very first sign, is usually a change in their droppings. If your birds are NOT moulting, and you are sure there is NO other reason for the change in droppings, you should seek advice from a vet quickly.
Green poop indicates bile in the gut, which would indicate the male Budgie isn't eating a lot. Perhaps the female is the dominant one and scoffs the majority of the food? Don't think its a husbandry problem as the fenale would be affected as well. Perhaps try putting food in two containers, so while the female is feeding, the male can get a chance to feed just as well.
the description sounds like your bird has a mild case of "coccidiosis"---which is a type of bacteria that all birds carry---when the droppings are watery and green like you said its like having a tummy ache and diarrhea---anyway a dose or two of Terramycin in his drinking water will help him---you can get it at any fine bird or pet store----by the way it will not hurt if the female drink the "medicine " too-it will be a prevention to the problem. good luck.
source? racing pigeon breeder and racer.the medicine comes in both powder and liquid form it does not matter which you get--I prefer the powder it desolves easily in water while the liquid loses it strength as soon as you put it into the water.
