Any ideas why a stray cat that i feed daily should have such bad (really smelly) farts.?

I feed it with good cat food, have tried to deflea it, and tried worming with drops on the back of his neck, dont know if it worked but cant get worming tablets down him without getting clawed to death.

Hi Richard.I would suspect that it's due to the either the gastrointestinal parasites (e.g. worms, coccidia, giardia, etc) which can cause bowel distresses. Additionally, any time there's a change in the diet animals will develop gastroinestinal distress (e.g. gas, diarrhoea, etc). Once it becomes accustomed to the food you've been feeding it the gas should subside.
Maybe it has an infection - very likely if it is stray and never had a vet check it over
lol take it to the vet.
He can do all this and they use oil drops no pills!
he probably eats other things you dont know about, i know my cat does!
It's been eating garbage and scraps for so long it probably is trying to get it all out of it's system.
possibly because its getting all sorts of dodgy crap to eat and yours is the only proper meal so the stomach is doing what it can to digest it. the rank farts being the biproduct.

good on yah though for lookin after the mog
It's simple: just stop feeding it with that regular food [a lot of conservants. you pay money to kill your cat slowly :( ] and start feeding it with normal food, maybe even fist. It works. And give it several days until the body accomodates with the new food. Trust me, it works. Just be a little bit patient. A simple example with what's happening to you cat: imagine if somebody would feed you everyday [3 time a day] with bean and not be able to choise. got the picture :) Take care and hope to hear good news :)
This is due to his/her diet. Probably all the mice or rats he catches and eats when you don't feed him. My cats are the same although they are fed well they still love to catch rodents and eat them and boy do they smell!!
You obviously care for him a lot, why don't you take him to the rspca and ask them to check him over.
if its a stray someone else maybe feeding it something bad!
Ah! My cat had that, she stank! It was because we'd been feeding her dairy products and she can't digest that so she needed tablets and cream on her bottom.
The cats got to go the vet, or call the RSPCA if you can't afford it (if it's the same as my cat it'll cost about £100 - £150)
It is all diet and age. Wield cats mostly eat bugs, birds, mice, and dead animals they come across( like road kill). Also like people as we get older our digestive system doesn't work as well. The best thing is to feed the cat chicken because it is a bird. That should help but don't over feed the cat. A heaping tea spoon of food should be enough once a day. Don't leave food out for the cat only feed it when you are there with the cat. This will keep skunks, raccoons etc. from coming around. That will also keep the cat safe as raccoons eat cats as well as fox and coyotes. If you can hold the cat for a while maybe it will let you take it to the Vet. He/she can give you a better idea of why the cat is having gas. Also remember that someday the cat will not come for a visit and will most likely be dead as in the wield a cat usually only last to age 5.Best of luck with the cat.
the change in the diet, espically if it is canned food..give him dry. He may not like it as much but he will get use to it.
as for the clawing to death. It takes two at times to get a pill down the cats throat.Wrap the cat up in either a blanket (head poking out of course) and hang on. Another way is placing him in a pillow case and have the other person hang on. Now watch out for the teeth.
If fact the best way to take a cat to the vet is in a pillow case if you do not have a carrying case.
I have 7 cats and I use the wrapping tightly with each of them.
Good luck and buy lots of bandages
Cats can fart?
Is this cat really a stray or is it just begging for food from you? I made a similar mistake. The cat was really skinny and would come around begging - we called the RSPCA in the end and a girl came out to collect the cat. The cat belonged to someone local who was advised to take the cat to the vet for some worming treatment. The owner hated us after that and about two weeks after, the cat disappeared - for ever! She still blames us!
Really smelly farts? How old is the animal? Our previous dog had bad smelly farts - but he also had a heart condition.
Cat needs to see vet.
probably the fact it was eating different diets in the neighborhood and the wild animals it catches. It could also have worms - the kind you can't treat with anything but going to the vet. if you can catch the cat please take it to the vet to get it some help too.
Yes! I had the same problem once.put Beano in its food! It really works and is not bad for them.
he probably eats vermin aswell as scavenging in bins elsewhere
he's probably eating mice and stuff too, most stray's do.have you tried giving him a worming cream or liquid, you just put it in food and if he's hungry he''l gobble it up and you won't get scratched.
