Should dogs have to wear doggie seat belts for their own safety?
Answers:
Absolutely, they can get injured or hurt just as easily as a human. If your not sure what you should get and whta would be bets check out this site: http://www.pet-supplies-review.com/dog-s.
if you can keep them in the seat belts! Mine never did.
no they wouldn't stay put in them and they could hurt them by rubbing their necks etc
yea but it's not possible dogs are to sqirmy (movin alot)!
Yeah they do make seat belts just for dogs. I have heard they saved their lifes in serous accidents.
I guess, if you can keep them in one.
I use a car harness everytime my dog rides in the car. It's not as safe as a crate, but it's better than allowing her to free roam. Owners who allow their dogs to free roam are not only putting their dogs in danger, they are also putting themselves in danger as well.
Sure, why not.
yes if there sat behind you
yes if you have to stop real hard you don't want you dog to hit the window do you?
It's good for their saftey and yours, especially if you get in an accident. I've heard about accidents where the dog was sent flying from the back seat and they hit someone up front and did some damage, and then there's a bunch of things that could happen to the dog.
i dont think its fair if ppl make dogs wear seat belts its animal cruilty. i mean its just th same as dogs having to wear clothes like most celebs do to their dogs. its just not fair on them even if it is for their own safety, they cant tell you what they want so u have to guess. but i say they shouldn't wear seat belts
My dog uses one and she's safer than she was before. She actually fell off th seat once when I had to stop quickly. So she is much safer in her "car seat". It hooks on to her collar and she's in a little box type area. I got it from Pet's Mart.
yes i had 1 4 my dog very gd
Yes because if you get in a car accident then your dog would be safe.
Yes, yes, yes yes. You don't even have to get a 'seat belt' get the dog a harness-make sure it is on tight enough-and slip the car's seat belt through it or use a leash, attach one end to the harness and attach the other to the hooks used for a baby seat. Not only can the dog go through the window in an accident but I know of a dog that flew out an open window when the car went over a bump. After multiple pins in his leg and hundreds of dollars later he is doing ok, but it was completely avoidable! Also works good for dogs that bolt out of the car when you open the door. Parking lots are not safe for a dog!
The safest way to travel with your dogs would be in a crate bungied or tied down in your car. Sometimes, in an accident, the car doors will pop open and the dog gets freaked out and runs off.
I bought a car harness for my dog but he hated it and started to suffer from travel sickness, even though I made sure it was not too tight. I could fit three of my fingers between it and him comfortably. He just hated wearing it. Now I put him in the boot and have a guard between the boot and the rear seats and he is fine, hasn't been sick once since I stopped him sitting on the back seat wearing his harness.
I'm sure they are good for most dogs, but not for mine!
