What is the average cost of putting my cat in a cattery for 2 weeks when i am on holiday? (uk)?
or is it better to leave him in the house + get someone to come in + feed him every other day?
Answers:
£6.50 a day in bradford area. If you are going away for a fortnight then its safer to use a good cattery, if you're just away for a weekend getting someone to pop in is a viable option. Make sure you look round the cattery first, a good one should be prepared to show you round without an appointment. There are still some really apalling kennels and catteries out there despite needing licences from environmental health. Look for cabins that are a reasonable size, preferably with a run attached, make sure they are well heated and obviously well cleaned. Also watch out for signs they are mixing cats from different homes - a really, really bad idea.
when we go on Holiday we get our next door neighbour to feed our cats and let them out but u think to yourself are they okay it costs about 10-15 pounds a night depends where u go but i would get someone to look after them when you are away on your holidays
The cost for boarding a cat here at a very nice place where there are sunny window ledges, a big central room with a large bird cage in it (with live birds!) and cat condos with two stories instead of just a small cage is $17 a day.
I think it is best for a cat to be in its own environment and have a professional pet sitter come to tend its needs and visit with the cat. I haven't had one in a while and think it would be about the same as the boarding for only one cat.
after my mum's lovely dog went into kennels i would say keep your cat at home,it may be that mum just went to the wrong place but her little dog came home and cost £700 in vets bills something he caught at the kennels, she did go to the kennels and looked around before he went there everything looked fine and clean when she picked him up his bed smelled and he smelled like something had peed up him.
Last time I left my cat at the cattery (in the summer) it was £6 a day.
we put ours in for 2 weeks over Xmas once - we had 2 cats, they were fine and fat when we got them back so all OK - about £50. for the 2 I think it was, and we supplied good quality food for them. They got an Xmas bag each too!
I think its going cost you £5 per day, thats what
they charge where we live in Lincolnshire and there well looked after.
Unless youve got a friend who will come in and feed it and change its litter tray.
i paid about £100 last time i went away, ask the cattery for a pen that sleeps 2. that way they are kept together and it is cheaper.
the price also depends on if you take your own food or have theirs.
don't forget to count the day before/ or after you get back.
ask your local vets which they recommend.
hi should be about £5 per day. I found that if you can get a friend to come in and feed your cat it is alot less stressful for your cat. i also have seen new businesses offering services to come feed clean and play with your cat if no one else is available.
the cost will vary between 5 and 10 pounds per night
