Is it true that you cant feed dogs pork.?

if you did , then the dog would turn on its Human owner..?

Answers:
Pork in itself is as harmless to dogs as chicken, beef or any other meat. However, there is a slight risk of your dog being infected with trichinosis by eating pork. Trichinosis, also known as trichinellosis, is a worldwide, food borne disease caused by an intestinal roundworm, uncommon in the United States. Both humans and pets who eat raw or undercooked meat of infected animals can develop the disease. Undercooked or raw meat of infected animals contains the roundworm. The disease can lead to muscle soreness and pain together with swelling of the upper eyelids in mild cases but can lead to more severe symptoms.

If you would like to feed pork but want to take all necessary precautions, it is recommended that the pork be frozen for 3 weeks to kill the parasite. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources.

I feed the raw diet and my dogs get pork, chicken, beef, venison and etc. They are healthy as they can be.
you shouldn't feed dogs pork, it's not good for them. can't remember why, but it contains something which is quite bad for dogs. hence you never see and decent quality dog meat with pork in it.
pork and chicken don't give your dog any nourishment at all, but pork is supposed to be one of the meats closest to human meat, don't know whether its true though.......
no.
Nonsense. Not true.
That's a load of crap.

How does your dog know what you taste like.
I eat pork but not human flesh.

Pork can give some dogs an upset stomach.
My dog got sick of pork. I think that is the main reason you should not feed your dog with it. It is too fat for the poor little four-legged friends.
well if it were raw it would contain worms. i do know that chocolate is very bad for them
Dogs can eat pork however pork contains a roundworm if undercooked or raw which can make ur dog sick

My dog eats EVERYTHING and he is very healthy (except when he eats a sock..lol). However, you really shouldn't give him a pork chop bone or chicken bones. those can kill them.
nope
My dog has a little taste of every meat, as a treat, once in a while.

Her main daily diet is 'complete' dried dog food, which keeps her healthy.

The only things I take very seriously about feeding animals, are:

You can give a cat dog food, but NEVER give a dog cat food, it's seriously bad for them.

Aspirin is lethal to a dog. and sometimes, so can giving chocolate be deadly!
Apprently you shouldn't feed dogs pork which is why you never find pork flavour dog food. It's odd though because you can buy pigs ears, knuckle bones etc in most pet shops for them to chew on. We always give our dog the left over pork from the sunday joint and he loves it. I did give him a venison bone once from the butchers and he was sick as a ...dog!
I've never herd that and i've been showing, training, and breeding dogs for 10 years. Plus i feed my dogs pork every once in while and they don't have problem.
THEY USED TO RECOMMEND NO PORK PRODUCTS, BUT THEY LOVE BACON AND ITS USED IN SOME CANNED DOG FOOD S QUITE OFTEN NOW.. THE SECOND STATEMENT IS THEY DONT TURN ON ANYBODY.THEY LOVE THE TASTE THATS ALL.. YOU SHOULDNT EVER GIVE THEM CHOCOLATE EVER! ITS POISOINING THEM.
No, bungs them up
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
no, not true at all, I feed my dogs only raw meat and have for years..despite what some ignorant people will say it is good for them..check out these sites it should answer alot of your questions.
I have never heard of a dog turning on anyone because they ate pork. However, just like for you, it is the same for the dog, pork must be cooked throughly before serving. Pork has a type of worm that it carries that can work its way into the brain of an animal causing all kinds of problems (maybe even aggression), so please cook it very well and enjoy.

Good Luck
the vet told me that the pork meat sometimes causes diarhea on dogs just like all the "fatty" meats(goat, sheep)
never heard that one before weve feed our dogs bits of pork just be careful with the bones.
Not strictly true. Nobody should ever eat RAW pork because it harvests worm larvae. It should be cooked right through first.

In my experience too many bones of any variety causes constipation in my boy! (and the wind whewww) lol.

Feed away, not too much liver though once a month if you are inclined though
