Hi,
JWB is now owned by Pedigree, the best complete food i think is Burns,it is the same price as JWB and of better quality.
Your pup should be fed small amounts and often(4 times a day),and fresh drinking water should always be available.
Hope this helps.
WHEN IT IS EATING HARD FOOD ALWAYS HAVE WATER WITH IT
that must be a local brand=never heard of it.
it's a great brand. u can also try burns it's v. good too. www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk if u want a wet food (not tinned) try nature diet it's great. www.natureidet.net both will send u free samples to try. i use combinastion of nature diet wellbeloved & burns for my cocker with a sensitive tum & no problems
some puppie like a mixture of both lots of (mix both foods together, my pups love it)
always have water available :D
also, if you think the food is too hard then make it softer with water.
;D good luck!
I reccommend sticking with dry food as is more hygenic as it wont attract flies etc if you leave it down.
To make it easier to eat for a little dog like yours, I would moisten the food with a little water. Not like milk on cereal, but just enough to make it easier for her to crunch.
Dogs fed on dry food drink masses of water - some times they make you think of camels! Make sure that there is fresh water down all day so she can help herself.
you should not have an eight week old puppy what ever is the breeder thinking of.mine never go to their new homes until they are 12 weeks old and fully vetted and injected.i would suggest you get some porridge with goats milk and honey for b/f..eukanuba or nutra dried soften it with a little water so she can eat it.for lunch .softened food again with a little scraping of canned or mince lamb/beef/chicken on top for tea..and another milky meal for supper give goats milk to drink watering it down until she no longer needs milk .she needs chewstix to chew on for teething and she may snuffle if so a little snufflebabe its a childs vapour rub .rubbed on her chest as her nostrils may tighten while teething..all this including diet sheet tips and other stuff should have been provided with her papers from the breeder.if you need any advice on shihtzu or any breed you can always join a group that will help you.there are many shihtzu ones.email me for info on some if you wish i dont want to be accused of advertising.any help with your puppy please dont hestitate to email me i will try and help you all i can for you and your puppies sake
it is reported to be very good and the dog should have access to water all the time
Prepared dog foods. Puppies + growing dogs
At this age your pup will take soft, wet foods that easily digest able: minced, chopped moist food, your dog will eat highly palatable, energetic + dense food.
Use `CONCENTRATED` foods IE a puppy food Pedigree chum
James wellbeloved is an excellent food for her. Crunching it will do her good. It'll keep her teeth clean and ensure she doesn't gulp it down and give herself tummy ache. Feed it ad-lib. Leave a bowl of clean water down all the time and she will drink as much as she needs.
I am also another lover of JWB. My older dog loves this food and I noticed she doesnt go to the toilet as much when she eats this as opposed to 'cheaper' foods.
As for the water, make sure there is water available all the time and they do drink lots on dried food.
