How do you get a 1 year old cat to use a catflap?

Answers:
Keep putting cat in and out of the flap until it gets used to it.
Just before feeding time Gently push it her through a couple of times then leave her out side and her food on the inside, She should get the hint!
what is a "cat flap"?
Gentle enticing and if that does not work, just push it through from the outside a few times
Play with her through the flap. Have a toy to coax her through and make it a fun game. When she comes through, give her a treat.
spread some litter on the outside of the catflap. Keep pushing the cat out the door, it'll learn in no time to use it. Patience and persistance is the best way to ensure it uses it.
simple tempt it to go out and come in, again go out and come in, so now it knows the easiest way, to tempt it use food or toys !

I recommend u try it !

Good question.
Put a treat or some kitty food on the other side, and put him/her though a few times.
It may sound cruel, but you are on one side of the flap and your friend on the other and you just shove the cat through for about five minutes, back and forth.

Repeat if necessary throughout the day, but most cats pick it up pretty quick
Is there a treat your cat finds irresistible like tuna? Put a little tuna on one side of the catflap. S/he should figure it out. You might have to gently nudge the flap so the cat sees it move, then let him/her do the rest. Talk sweetly and praise the kitty the whole time, don't yell or the cat will give up and run off.
When he /she wants to go to the desired area, point them continually to the cat flap. They'll catch on.
Have two of you- one puts the cat gently through the flap, the other one gets the cat, strokes it, gives a treat and then gently puts the cat through again to the other person who does the same - stroke, treat - then back again. It should catch on pretty quick.
my cats couldn't grasp it 4 ages but one day we left them outside and when we came back they were both inside asleep! so as long as they know where the cat flap is they will figure out the rest! good luck!
leave the cat inside and you go outside put some food where you are and open the flap a bit so your cat can see the food hopefully it will come trough
hope this helps
Bribery, use their favorite food while their on the other side and call them also try putting them in and out a few times, if the use an enclosed litter tray they should be fine.
Here's how I have done it - lift the flap and show the cat the outside. Then I put the cat half out if it doesn't start to go on it's own and let the flap down real easy on it so it feels it and isn't spooked. If it is a kitten it takes time for them to be strong enough to get through it. When a cat wants out or in it will use the pet door after it is a little older. Remember that other animals use them also so don't be surprised what may happen. I don't have much of a problem with that cause after a strange animal comes in and is spooked it usually doesn't try it again. Cats also like to bring you presents like live mice and live birds and speaking from experience they bring them through the pet door. Good luck and have fun!
I would make a game of it, but dont rush for your cats approval to the new doorway. The more you push the longer your pet will. Leave them alone, with a little treat on the otherside . No problem. I have had cats my whole life, and whatever you my present them with, they will figure it out
i found the easiest way ( to the neighbours amusement) was to play peek-a-boo with him from the one side then the other so he knew once he eventually went out of it he could get back in
Put a nice tasty morsel on the end of some string the slowly drag it through the cat flap keep doing this the cat will soon use it
